I'm having some setup issues but with a real Amiga 1200. Amiga 500 games work fine but when I try an AGA game (eg Pinball Fantasies) it complains that it can't find 'kick40068.a4000'. The reason it can't find it is because it's not there due to the fact that it is a 1200 :nuts
Why is it looking for the 4000 roms? Is it because I'm using a Blizzard 030? Can I fix this by copying the 4000 roms over?
I'm using WHDLOAD v16.8.
Thanks :D

WHDLoad looks for kickstart images in a specific folder, the same place you have put an image of a 1.3 kickstart. Even if your computer has a kickstart 3.1 chip you need to put a kickstart 3.1 rom image in the folder and kick40068.a4000 is the name that image has to have.

that's incorrect...it's a simple bug on whdload or a error on main slave
it looks for the A1200 rom
I have pinball fantasies whdload working perfect and I haven't any A4000 rom
the error message of whdload is a bit misleading here, it searches also for a kick40063.a600 and a kick40068.a1200, but neither is found so it it shows only the name of the last one tried.
maybe i fix this in the next whdload...

I did some research and it sounds like I'm not the only one to have these kind of issues and that it can be a little 'tricky' to setup correctly ;)
I've heard that some older game packs don't work with the latest version of WHDLOAD and vice-versa so maybe that is the problem.
I've also read that you need to registered version of WHDLOAD to fix some of the issues.

Just an update from me (I often talk to myself BTW). After wiping my HD and installing OS3.9, WHDLOAD and the roms.....it now works :D
Not sure why it wasn't working before but there ya go :banghead

Yeah this is what happens, you need the ROMs.
I wonder about this all time though, why look for a ROM image of a ROM you have in the computer? Can somebody explain?
(in my case it's not that, since I have 3.0 :))
