Hello,

I have just received Amiga OS 4 from Amigakit and I tried

to install. I have read on the manual to press ESC KEY

while powering up the Amiga to set OFF the MapRom but it

doens't appear anything when I hold ESC KEY.

Then when I boot from Amiga OS4 Boot Floppy it opens

a windows and says: insert Amiga OS 4 Install CD.

I have read on the manual the I have to eject the CD

and insert it again but it doesn't work the Amiga keep

on looking for this Amiga OS 4 Install CD.

I have to say that I have IdeFix Express on my Amiga.

What can I do to fix these problems and install OS4?

Thanks in Advance

If you use a PC keyboard or similar, you probably have to press Esc several times before you hold it down.

If you haven't done yet, you should upgrade your PPC to the latest flash ROM version. http://powerup.amigaworld.de/index.php?lang=en&page=13

The second port of the IDEfix does not work during installation. You have to connect the CD drive to the first port together with the HDD (HDD = Master, CD = Slave). After installation you can put it back to the second port.

is it possible to add idefix to c/ on the boot floppy and add c:idefix to first line of startup-sequence?

[FONT=Arial]Hello,
I have read on the manual to press ESC KEY

I think earlier versions of the BlizzardPPC-firmware did not contain the boot menu. Unfortunately, I can't remember how to find out which version of the firmware you have installed.

You might just try to update to the latest firmware version, just to see if you the boot menu shows up now (there are newer firmware updates than this one, but they're only for GRex owners):

Make sure you read the included documentation before trying to update your firmware!

@Korodny:

This thread is two years old. You only need to answer the last question from DDNI about Idefix.
