I need your help guys before I decide to buy, any help is grateful!

Im thinking of buying the following from Power Computing:-

52 speed External ATAPI CD-ROM
Includes case with PSU, cables, 4-way buffered interface with EIDE99 software and AllegroCDFS and interface instruction manual.
£64.95

1. Would I be able to transfer the adf's off a collection cd straight to its original format? In other words save me connecting to PC as I have no room!

2. Ive got a 500 & a 1200 would the drive work on both?

3. Can you play normal music cd's/ mp3 cd's through one of these drives? Whats the quality like if you can?

A big thanx goes out in advance for any help given!!!!!

Sorry, but you will only be able to use that 4-way IDE Controller on you A1200, cause the A500 does not have an internal 44 Pin IDE Port (thats where it fits ;) )

to 3) Yes, Audio CD´s are possible and they sound like uhmmmm, like 22Khz Paula/AHI Sound :D Mp3´s are only possible with a powerfull CPU (68040 or better) and a suitable MP3 Player program on Amiga (like AmigaAMP etc.)

Hope that helps top solve your problems :D

CD audio won't sound too good played through your Amiga and TV/monitor. However, you can use the headphone socket on the CD drive, or connect the drive directly to your speakers if it has audio outputs at the back of the casing.

Keep in mind you will have to stick a cable that goes from inside the 1200 to the outside, in an UGLY way. If that doesnt bother you, go ahead I say...

BTW, about MP3s... I tried MPEGA with the TMLG interface... i cant say I was succesful :P TMLG keeps crashing...

what other mp3 player do you recommend for my 030@50? I wont be running hi quality mp3s anyway
