Would it be possible to add such a feature to WHDload that would be compatible with existing slaves?

Either holding down a modifier key, or perhaps having CAPS LOCK on, turns other keys into keypad keys?

Would the best thing be to contact the slave authors of the worst afflicted games?

Will it be a lot of work? (on average)

I would not spend time on such changes. But you can get slave source and do it yourself ;)

i must have missed this thread previously.

just out of interest, i'd like to know what are the worst affected games? i dont own an A600, but my macbook has the same problem ;)

i know bloodwych suffers from mis-placement of the help/del keys, although this can be fixed with a small edit of the binary and the usage of the CUSTOM= tooltype in Girv's updated slaves.

Shuttle, I used to hate not being able to do certain stuff, my brother could do on his A500. I do remember there being some 3 key combinations for it, but it was a nightmare, :(.

so the sum total is one slightly obscure space-shuttle simulator? hmm

hardly an abundance is it?!

So why does everyone always bitch about A600 having no keypad if there is only one title that was affected?

"everyone" ? "always"? hmm.. interesting choice of words

anyway, i've asked for examples and had one response. i've found f/a18 on another thread, so that's two. Bloodwych i knew of already, and mentioned myself.

sorry if my sarcasm offended you alexh, but you started the thread here, so you could at least give a reply that includes some examples, since i was going to see if there were any i might be interested in attempting to fix.

There were alot of others, but shuttle sticks in my mind, cause i never finished the hubble telescope repair mission.

Dont get me wrong, they had multi key combo's, and I loved my A600 as it had a HD, :).
