My friend has an Amiga 500 and he has a demo we did in RSI demomaker back in 1991. We want to transfer this to PC. I tried the method with hooking up two floppy drives to the PC and using some app to read it. That worked fine for all disks we tried EXCEPT this one... (which is strange since it's a regular AmigaOS formatted disk and it's also working fine). So I read that if you have WB 2.0 you could read PC-disks and thus transfer the file to a PC-disk.
We haven't got any Amiga programs, except a handfull of games. I guess the easiest way is to get WB 2.0? So any friendly person that can make a copy on what files are needed and send it with snail mail? Or if there is any other solution?

You'd need kickstart 2.04 to be able to use workbench 2.0
That and requesting copyrighted files isn't allowed on these forums
Other methods to transfer files could be:
- using a null modem cable to do a serial transfer
- buying a catweasel to read amiga disks in your pc

I wan't requesting a copyrighted file, I could buy a Workbench disk for $1 or what they are worth nowadays from someone who has a spare :)
Otherwise I'll try to find someone who can transfer it for me, seems a bit overkill to buy hardware to copy ONE disk...

Will be difficult for you to copy stuff over with such a basic amiga.
Best would be to send your disk to someone that can make it into an ADF.
Perhaps your disk is broken and that's why it couldn't be imaged.

The demofile on the disk works fine, but maybe there was some blocks which was faulty and made adfread totally go bananas... since I got 100% read errors. Other disks converted fine.

For transferring on a KS 1.3 Amiga you could always give ppill's excellent Hombre a try:
... Hombre Project - PC to Amiga (http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=27704)
... Hombre's site resource. (http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=28242)

Unfortunately it doesn't help me unless I get a physical amiga floppy with those programs...

MMmmmmmm could you run demomaker on WINUAE, transfer all the origonal files of the demo over to the pc and re-make the demo? It could even be a better 2008 version. May take a while but maybe possible..........

I was thinking of doing a pixel-perfect remake as a java applet actually...
