Someone uploaded a while ago ALGEBRAPLUS2 in dms format. When I convert it to adf with batch converter I get 0 kb. What could this be? I use adfopus ver. 0.7.3
Thanx in advance.

Maybe adfopus failed to convert it. Try using XDms. I can upload it if you want.

Xdms 1.1 is up in the zone. It's a dos program and you may use the .bat file I wrote to extract the .dms files ;)

Sometimes, xdms will fail on DMS files as well (especially if there is a banner on the DMS file) and it will be neccesary to go into AmigaDOS and use the real DMS command to extract the file to a disk/adf. I already converted that title, I believe, so if you want, I can just upload the adf for you when I get home.

I also saw, that adfopus made crc errors on some dms files I converted before.
@Burseg
Thanx! :)

An adf would be nice since to :) (dos prg. can be a problem under win2000 sometimes)

Please DO NOT USE this old Xdms version!
It might fuck up dms files so they show errors in future usage!
Where the hell did you pick up this stone-old version?
The latest version, FWIW, is 1.3, available on Aminet.
Yikes...

LOL At least I suspected it being an old version and wrote that version number down! :D I'll get a newer one now but I must add that version 1.1 unpacked thousands of dms files for me with no problems.
ver 1.1 is from february 98 and 1.3 if from march 99. I must have downloaded it between these dates. Both versions are old anyway.

I can't seem to find my copy. I think it might be that it was a compact and thus got renamed as such, so when I get home, I'll try to sift through my Compacts dirs (perhaps the most disarrayed of all of my adf collections!)

@Burseg
Don't be fooled. You won't always see that the DMS is broken. You WILL see it after looking at it using a disk monitor.
Or you'll encounter problems while playing. Not good...

I have no doubt you are correct andreas.
