View Full Version : Guess the Hardware?
Dizzy
08 February 2007, 13:34
Well since we have a guess the screenshot and a guess the sound sample...
What about Guess the Hardware (computer, console, etc).
Show a small picture sample from the hardware, and give some hardfacts (not to many ;))
Rules:
Please note there are NO exceptions to these rules
1). Only 1 screenshot post at a time
2). Winner is the only person who can post screenshots OR they can nominate another member.
3). Only one guess per person per hour UNLESS somebody else guesses within that hour AND the poster has top say whether it is/isn't correct.
4). If a new picture isn't posted within 24 hrs of getting the answer confirmed correct then the player forfeits their go and the previous player chooses who is next..
(rules from Bippys guess the screenshot)

Fourth or Fifth generation.
It's NOT PC Engine, 3DO, FM Marty Towns, CD-I, Neo Geo, Atari Jaguar.
I thought that it might be a 3rd party remake of the Sega Saturn, but it's not a JVC Saturn.
I am stumped :(

Damn, I thought I had it, but it is not a CDX (Multi-Mega) either :(
musashi5150

It's nothing too obscure and it's not a 3rd party console - it was made by a 'proper' manufacturer. 4th generation.

PET 200 a rebadged version of the Commodore 8032-SK?
Dizzy
21 February 2007, 00:39
It is said that Ferdinand Porsche was involved in this design. It's not true since he died just a few years after the end of World War II. In fact, Commodore enlisted the services of Porsche Design, a separate firm from the famous car maker that specializes in the less glamorous world of industrial design. PD was founded as a side project of Ferry Porsche, Ferdinand's son.
The PET 200 is a rebadged version of the Commodore 8032-SK which is itself the same model as the 8032 (http://www.old-computers.com/museum/computer.asp?c=105) with a rounded shape design and a separate keyboard. This design was used later on the CBM-II series computers. ;)
So Pet 200 it be :D

You're right Phantasm, although it was a KC 85/2 in the picture but both look exactly the same except for the model number. When searching with google for 1.75 MHz the first three results lead to the right track, but I don't know if you get the same results from an UK IP. Anyway, well done.
