Just saw the other thread about joysticks so I thought I'd ask everyone what their fave joystick is/was. Mine is definately the ZipStick :)
Thanks

The Bug.
Cheetah made it I think. Great for Sensi Soccer.

My favourite game controller was the Cheetah BolliStick which I used for my Amiga and also my Master System II.
Tried to find a picture of it on Google, but wasn't anything about it, so I put it in the scanner and it actually worked!:D

(deleted and reposted to attach the image)
At first, I used two Sega Master System Control Pads, after I broke both of them I used a couple of Sega Mega Drive Control Pads and after they were dead I started using that quickshot pythons but nothing gets close to an SMS pad.

I remember the Amiga Format coverdisk that had Hired Guns on it told you how to tinker around with a Sega Mega Drive games controller and adapt it to the game. Wonder if anyone tried it?

I loved the Konix Speedking (autofire version, or you'd get cramp) although if you're left handed they are pretty useless.
My favs however are the chunky desk joysticks like the Cruiser or Competition Pro.

Back when I first played on my C64 I only had joysticks to use with the games, and remember this old black joystick model with two buttons, one on the top of the stick and the familiar trigger. I think I used to use only one button the first time round (the top one), and then later I discovered the trigger underneath it! :D
Hey, I was only young! :laugh Like, what, 5 or 6 years old or something?
But when the joystick (and possibly a few others we also bought) broke, I was left without a joystick to play around with.
I later noticed that the joypads for my Sega Mega Drive (which was fairly brand new at the time, having bought it from the Future Entertainment Show '92 in Earl's Court :great) had the same port layout and look as traditional C64 and Amiga joystick ports, so one time, when I was playing Wild West Seymour, I plugged the Mega Drive pad in the normal port and, lo and behold, it actually WORKED! :) I felt very happy, I just discovered something by myself! :D No help from anyone, oh joy, joy, joy! etc. :laughing I worked out that "B" was the fire button, as was with Amiga later on.
(A bit of a stark contrast now compared to my Sidewinder joypad, which, when used with WinUAE, now treats "A" as the fire button! ;)
I can't remember if I used a joystick on my Amiga before the Mega Drive incident, but I do remember receiving a yellow-and-black joystick with two buttons on the front (I think) which I didn't use much with my Amiga because by then I had become too used to using a joypad in order to be any good with a joystick any more! For some reason using a joypad feels more comfortable. ;)

My favourite joystick was BOSS, or THE BOSS. I don't have it anymore so I don't remember who manufactured it. :( The stick itself was black, with a white button on the top. It had a grey bottom, with the text "BOSS" in the center. It was a very nice joystick! A few years later, I switched to a joypad - a Quickshot! It was greyish with two red buttons and had an autofire option.

MarzAttakz, that black and yellow joystick is the zipstick. Thats interesting about the megadrive pad. If I can find one for sale, I think i might modify it to run on Hired Guns (there was a tutorial on an Amiga Format coverdisk telling you how to do this)

I just remembered that the secondary button of SMS pad worked exactly like RMB/secondary joystick button with amiga. One of the buttons on Mega Drive Pad worked the same but I'm not sure which one.

@Burseg: I'm sure it was "C" that acted as the 2nd joystick button on some games.

12 January 2002, 15:50
I had different sticks for different games. I used a Python 1M for flight sims etc.. The cheetah Bug for action games and a Competition Pro CD32 Pad for slower games, and games which used the pad!! :D
Shatterhand
12 January 2002, 20:26
I am pretty sure you can use both SMS and Mega-Drive joypads with your Amiga as a 2-button joystick, and with the Mega-Drive pads, you use B as the 1st button and C as the 2nd button.
Electronic Arts claimed you could plug a Mega-Drive pad in the amiga port, and play Desert Strike and Fifa with the same controls as the Mega-Drive versions, but that's bullshit, you use just B and C
I wouldn't be surprised if that's the same case with Hired Guns (I can't remember now if it used 2 buttons or not)

Looking through my wardrobe of nostalgia I found 2 interesting joysticks.
1) Magnum by Mastertronic
This really is a kick ass design. It's also from the same era as a top-rated P.I show involving a Ferrari, so the name is cool. :cool
It still works today (those old solid builds and metal micro switches again! :) ) and is unbelievable comfortable to use. The stick is really responsive and of good quality.
Wish I had a picture but can't find one anywhere and I don't have any image tools. :(
With an autofire this joystick would rock, as the thumb trigger is a little hard to hammer fast for shoot-em-ups.
The biggest plus about this stick is you don't get cramp from those long gaming sessions - fantastic! :)
2) Original Vic-20 Joystick. The biggest pile of non-micro-switched junk I've every had the misfortune of using - enough said. :kill
You know what guys, I think we need a joystick poll to follow this thread up. Come on, let's have some more entries. :smoking

ZipStick
-it had enclosed microswitches, other joysticks seemed to break too easy...
also like the ascii pad (for megadrive/genesis 2), very flat design with a strong die-cast feel to it! Althou, i had to ripp out the MODE button, if you pressed it while connected to the Amiga, it kinda killed the pad!
I still have the ZipStick!

i always preferred pads, but i had some good times with the zipstick.
tended to use my old megadrive pad... but as Shatterhand said above, only two of the buttons (max) would work, in any game.

The best joystick for the amiga was an australian make called the StarCursor, It was a heavy duty joystick designed for the serious arcade game player, it has thick black heavy duty plastic for the stick and base, arcade style buttons one on the top of the stick and 2 at the base. This joystick has the 2 button crontrol and came with a 3 year warranty. If I find a scanner i will scan a picture of one.
// Amigaboy says - No need to scan it. Here it is :

I second that Aussie Joystick submission!!
I still have it today, but my old Amiga/C64 aren't really up to handling gaming anymore:(
But there was any number of times I hurled that joystick in anger & it took every blow & still worked superbly!!:D

my favourite is definatly 'The Arcade Joystick'

My favorite has to be the Advanced Gravis. Nice large base, and sturdy. Lots of others soon busted on me, but these just kept on working.

22 March 2002, 01:02
Well mine has to be these:
Powerplay cruiser, even the sick green, blue, pink n yellow one :D
ive still got four of em, 2 black, 2 sicko colours LOL
my other fave is the Zipstick! i also have the competition pro version that i got back in my speccy days :) rock solid joysticks these...
i also have a fair few cheetah bugs including one that's never been used and is sitting in its original box! never even plugged the thing into an amiga to see if it works!
only downside is now iv'e put bloody XP on my pwee cee i cannot use directpad pro to use these on uae etc :( :(
The Star Cursor II joystick did rule especially when playing Speedball 2, but another favourite was the Tac 2. It had a ball on the top and 2 fire buttons, it was really good until it broke.:sad
Ahhh The Tac2!!!!!!!!
Yeah they were a hardy joystick if there ever was one, and was classed the ultimate replacement for the Atari2600 joystick, they were both easily repaired. Mostly it was their fire buttons that just needed taking out and cleaning. Other than that I can honestly say it has to be one of the longest lasting joysticks ever made. That and the other ones I mentioned.

22 March 2002, 17:46
MAn, yeah, how could you BREAK a TAC2??? I love mine...
Im not sure about how to open it tho... it could use a button cleaning... Do you remember how it was done, Nian?
Well my TAC 2 actual directional stick stopped working, I guess I could try and find an allen key to open it up and see if it could be fixed. I think it finally died after a session of Shadow Of The Beast 2 and everybody knows how easy and calming that game is right?:cheese
Erm I havn't seen one for years but I am sure it just had normal screws or allen key screws on the bottom. I do know it wasn't that hard to open.

I think the sound of microswitches clicking would drive me mental now Ive got used to the silence of analogue. But the Quickshot and the Zipstick were faves of mine too. Also the Comp pro was a good un.

Quickshot is my fave, does mould to the hand nicely, but I don't know about it being industructable, I still use the first one I got, but I bought another one just in case. ;)

Without a doubt, the ZipStick was the best - triple fire, sturdy as a rock and (almost) unbreakable.
Especially good for Team 17's Waggle-O-Mania.

For all the vaunted improvemnets with analog control, I still prefer the old microswitches & solid joysticks. At least you knew you were pushing/clicking thrashing everything properly!

16 May 2002, 02:05
My Faveourite was the Zip stick too! (still have 2 now but don't use real amiga anymore :( )
i also tried cheetah 125, Comp pro's (the last i had was the crystal blue / chrome shaft/buttons one it shatterd very easily when i chucked it at the wall) My Friend and I were very competative at kick off-Goal/sensi Loosing was a matter to bash/break/snap/throw your joystick.
The Arcade stick pictured in one of the other messages was also very good.
I thought all suncom joysticks sucked big time as did Quickshot lower than II even the qsII+Turbo the Skeleton microswitches where crap at which time i stopped using em! i also tried the Master system/Mega drive controllers but playing goal/sensi was nigh on impossible!
The worst joysticks of the lot where leaf switchers they where pants (ie cheetah 125+) etc some where so bad i don't even want to remeber them :)
Special Mention goes to Konix speedking they where good for certain games but again not for footy games! anyone remeber the endurance test they did with the drill and a waggle game???
it still holds the record i bet :)
Also what was looking good was the Konix gamesystem i dunno the name now but was in Ace Computer magazine (still have some of those :)) it was gonna be a new console that had 3 modes 1: Bike sim mode, 2: Yoke/driving mode 3: shootem up games. Eventually it came out as a controller for PC but looked too cheap to buy!
Maybe one or two rusty memory's here:)
My fav joystick was the Quick Joy Topstar, with auto fire, slow motion, and a funky see through base:D
I can't remember the name of my fav pad, but it was blue and black and resembled a Snes pad.
I also loved the joystick that came with my amiga, the one which you held in one hand, had the two fire buttons on its sides and had a small stick on top. I was mourning when it eventually broke.:(
I have to check out this Zip stick...:cool

My favorite was the Sigma Ray by Logic 3. It had the best feel and control of any other joystick I've had. However, this thing was cheaply made, as the switches would keep going out on it.

Other than that, I really liked the Wico joysticks. Those things seemed to last forever!

The ultimate test of a controller? For me, Sensi. No need to shorten their life by smashing them up; the sheer amount of use they got (still get) ensured a steady turnover. The quest for the ultimate Sensi controller led me and my buds to try pretty much all of the ones mentioned so far in this thread. That elusive combination of comfort and endurance...
Most impressed by: Cruiser, Competition Pro Extra (diddy little thing), MegaDrive pads/Comp Pro CD32 Pad. Pads seem to last longer than sticks - less mechanical movement, I guess.
@sarek2k: It is possible to play Sensi with pads! Took ages to bring control with my left hand up to the standard of my right, but they are pretty similar these days. Why are pads left-handed, anyhow? :confused
Least impressed by: Tac-2. Maybe I got a duff one, but that sucker fell apart on day one. As did the Konix Speedking.
The ZipStick I bought from amigajoysticks.co.uk a couple of months feels totally different from the one I owned 10 years ago.
Comparing it to a mates 1 from 10 years ago, mineit different miscroswitches in it and feels of a lower quality. I took it apart to have a look and it has cheap PCB mounted push button switches. Has anyone else come across this when buying a new one recently?

Andrew - yes I've noticed this a few years back when my newer cruisers broke but my original kept on going! :)
Below is a post I wrote a few months back on the subject:
There is a reason why the earlier joystick models last longer than the newer ones.
The first ever Cruiser multicoloured joystick I bought (with the batman pack) still works 100% fine even today after hundreds of hours of abuse. As do many of my older joysticks I bought before this.
Several I purchased at a later date (including more cruiser models) seemed to break much more easily.
For example, the newer cruisers would last 6 months before a microswitch would give out luckily still under warranty.
"Why?" I thought, so I opened them up.
To my surprise ALL the "solid" earlier models had METAL microswitches installed.
The later "frail" attempts had cheap plastic microswitches.
The plastic microswitches may have been cheaper, but with the amount of returns and high failure rate they can't of been a sound choice. Yet still they used them. Oh well.
It was part of this thread (http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2957&highlight=joystick)
THEY DON'T MAKE EM LIKE THEY USE TO is most definitely a true saying. :(

My favourite joystick is the Quickshot-II and it's microswitch models.
I had about 3 of them in use, I think ( now have about 10 of them which came with all the computers I collect ;) )
They lasted for about half a year, and after that the small metal plates inside broke. But that didn't stop me, and since I didn't have enough money to buy a new joystick every half of a year I replaced the metals by ones I took off from old batteries ! Oh, yes, that were the times :)
When I got my Amiga in about '90 ( had a C64 since '84 ) I also got a Quickshot-II-Turbo and a Quickshot-II-Plus. ( these are the microswitch models ) These were also great joysticks - even better than the normal Quickshot-II, but I couldn't repair them as easily.
Besides, also the Quickshot-Professional was very good.
On the PC I use a Logitech Thunderpad for playing PC games, and I use a Quickshot Python V whenever I test some games in an emulator ( for regular playing I use my real Amiga & Quickshot anyway )
The Quickshot Python V is a great thing because it looks exactly like the Quickshot Professional, but is in white and has a PC connector :) It is the only digital joystick I have for the PC ( the pad is no stick ), and it is GREAT for every emulator game, because I hate that PCish analogue sticks where you have to push kilometers in each direction ;)
I had a good look around and found 2 of the old Zipstick microswitches from my old Zipstick from years ago. Top quality, robust switches compared to todays cheapo ones you can buy for less than 20p from Maplins
Your right - They dont make em like they used to :)

my fav joysstick was quickshot3(red and black)
with auto fire and i have still got them as i went
and bought 2 :D i could never get the hang of
the arcade stick(to big) but was great for the
holyfield boxing:D
Is there any differences between the Zipstick and Cometition Pro joysticks? cause they look pretty much the same to me???
Thanks

I had an old relic from my C64 called 'The Boss' ... it was grey with a black stick, chunky, and survived my abuse till it finally gave out a couple of years into the Amiga (it decided to stop going down and right, possibly due to years of Exploding Fist). I then bought a Cruiser, ripped apart an old Speedking for it's two button wiring and modified the Cruiser to have an alternate fire button. And that thing lasted me, and still works today :)

Albatros was my first choice in joysticks, but i don't have a scan...
My favorite is definitely the Wico Bathandle (not the one with a red ball but just a plain red stick), it's awesome! I got them in 86 for my C128 and they're still as good as new, they seem to last forever even when handled rough in "wiggle games"! Too bad they don't work with the PC I have now or I'd use it for playing the PC games too! :)

i had a clear see through competition pro on the amiga, and a zipstick also, but prefered the pro.

Competition Pro was the most reliable one, but I always preferred the joystick buttons to be on top of the stick, so I always bought other models. The coolest one had a clock (!) included :D Don't remember the name though - and it broke only two weeks after I had bought it :(
I've been using "Arcade" joysticks since my msx days... my 2 button version ("The Arcade Turbo" if i'm not mistaken) is now a rough 15 years old and still works like a charm :D But why shouldn't it with the fine "MADE IN HOLLAND" on the bottom... this confirms a old and wise saying... "It ain't much if it ain't dutch" ;)

the tac-2 ofcourse, but as mentioned before they broke! I think I had about 5 or 6 tac-2's.
When playing games like "winter games" or "decathlon", you had to jank the joystick from side to side and eventually the ball that was attached to a pin inside the joystick broke!
Fuck man, you lot are BEASTS. How can you break that contact in the TAC-2? That's as solid as.... something very very very solid! :P
Summer Games needed fast movement, not HARD. Are you lot from thet "school" who always thought that jamming the controllers harder would make faster/stronger moves in the games? They were digital joysticks :D
I see kids on the arcades bashing the sticks with such fierce strength that I feel to hit them in the head with a baseball bat to show them what they are doing!
That's why you always find flaky/nonworking controllers in the arcades.

I just got three brand new competition pro's today.:D They are black with red button and the stick. It's the first time I'm using one, they feel better than quickshot ones that I've used for years. I was just looking for arcade style joysticks but the ones available were competition pro imitations and were not comfortable enough.
And guess what the guy who sold me these offered. He said he could sell quickshot pythons twice the price, thinking that they were any better than comp. pros :laughing but I had greater pleasure helping him get rid of these useless and cheap competiton pros ;)
He has seven more of them so I won't miss this opportunity to have enough joystick supplies that'll last for my lifetime :D

My first choice of joystick has to go to the Quickshot II Turbo. I loved this stick although most reviews slated it. It lasted ages as well.
http://www.zen77435.zen.co.uk/qshot.jpg
I didn't like the zipstick for anything except driving games.
Hated the bug. It really felt wrong in the hand (to me anyways!)
My favourite controller of all time was a gamepad from the Amstrad GX4000 console. It was basically a rounded and flatter version of the NES joypad and I rewired the second button to duplicate the 'up' on the dpad - this made it absolutely perfect for platformers that use 'up' to jump - like Superfrog!
http://www.zen77435.zen.co.uk/jpad.jpg
The 2 buttons were perfect placed for firing and jumping at the same time using just the right thumb. It looks naff but feels just right to me!

This is my favourite joystick. It's called "The Arcade" and was made in the 80's by dutch company STC Rotterdam, who recently merged with Happ Controls. www.clive.nl/images/24225.jpg
Mine has microswitches in the stick and a sturdy leafswitch under the button. There's a rarer one with microswitch in the button too.
My second favourite is the Competition Pro.
I had Quickshot II and Quickshot II Turbos as well but they always broke sooner or later.
At present I have two Sony Dualshock pads connected via an USB adaptor from play.com and The Arcade via a gameport converter I bought in an electronics shop here in Copenhagen.

But I also got two no-name brands at a computer fair in 1996. They are now so extensively used that the screws on the handle are rusted and the silver word 'joystick' has been worn away. But they work just fine despite all the IK+ abuse.

I have a HotRodSE, which I bought years ago and it's still very responsive. This rocks for MAME32. The XArcade is also good (plus has the added ability over the HotRodSE that it can be used on consoles as well as PCs) but I've heard that it's not as reponsive as the HotRodSE...
For WinUAE and SNES emulators I used an XBox USB 4 x JoyPad adapter. This rocks...

I have a Comp. pro for my 500 that performs well, but the only thing i think it faults is in not having suctioncups for fixing in the table, but through all the systems i had, the best controller i had used was the n64 controller. Also i had one in my computer via usb, it's superb, a very well stacked position of buttons.

These two are my favourites JOYSTICKS. I just bought the Competition Pro one, but I'm still looking for the one that feels and looks the same as my original did, back when I had a C64.
Supposedly it was a Competition Pro 5000, and it looked like it as well. But the button presses and joystick clicked like the Zipstick does. I don't like how the Comp Pro I have doesn't give any feedback on the buttons, it's just a soft press, almost like you're pressing a touch screen. I also seem to remember the transparent plastic not having that sandpaper feel, but be rather transparent like a bottle of coca cola. I remember buying it in Germany, cirka 1990, while I was on a vacation. It also felt slightly cheaper, like the zipstick, compared to the Competition Pro I have now. It could be an imitation, a fake copy, but if that was the case, it was a fake that was as good as the original.
I miss this joystick! Still looking for it.
EDIT: oops, didn't realize it was that big. Fixxxxxxxxxx'd.

The main control pads I use for my Amigas these days are Competition Pro CD32 pads, although I still have a couple of original Commodore CD32 pads plugged into some of the A1200s and CD32s we have set up around the place. Back in the A500 days, I had plenty of joysticks, including half of the ones posted so far. I really loved the big flight stick style digital ones for games like Stunt Car Racer, because combined with my swivelling, rotating, rocking chair, I'd be moving around like I was in one of those hydrolic arcade machines.
Before the Competition Pro CD32 pads, I had a few Sega Master System and Mega Drive pads, and they were alright too, especially if the games supported the second fire button.
My next project is going to be an arcade cabinet with dual Playstation arcade joysticks wired up inside it. With this, I can hook up a PS1 or PS2, or using those Playstation-to-CD32 adapters, any Amiga. I can't wait to play some good Amiga games that support the CD32's extra buttons with an arcade stick instead of a pad for once. Running Fightin' Spirit in it would feel like a real arcade machine.
If I do get those adapters (either bought from someone on eBay if he relists them, or maybe making one myself if I learn how) I'll get a few more Nubitech Street Fighter Playstation control pads too, since these have the best D-pad and button layout of any Playstation pad I've ever used.

Upon testing said joystick you found in bin/skip/dog kennal you can then gurantee the auto fire thingy at least thats what I presume it was at the back of the stick don't work, and the stick feels very unresponsive. I also dislike those sticks for what I would say is crap build quaility.
All in all it just feels poor :(

I don't remember their names, but I loved some Greek made metal joysticks using real arcade stick and buttons (which after all were VERY common as spares back then, unlike today). They looked almost hand-made (maybe they were). Even if I could still use them (I need to buy some adapter to make them compatible with PC) they would probably outlive me.
They were not "almost unbreakable" they were UNBREAKABLE.
I hated most quickshots (it was the "made in China" quality of the 80ies).
I also hate my 2600 joysticks and in fact they were notorious for NOT lasting long (both mine are dead for many years now) and for the mushy feeling that gave no real feeling of control and precision.
But undeniably they are of the Big Names of Nostalgia.

Well since most Amiga games don't support more than 1 button, its kind of useless anyway to have an arcade stick, but yes i love arcade sticks much more than Joysticks, but i wouldn't go as far as to say that they are crap!?. I had 10 times more enjoyment from playing games on my Amiga & C64 than going to the arcades in the 80's and 90's ( although i did go to them a lot, but after about 1993, arcades started to become shit, and now they are pathetic!! ), so i don't entirely agree, but each to their own.

Pics of collections would be nice :D
Erm here's my favourite;

well my two favorite sticks are the atari 2600 ones and the one button arcade stick, but my favorite of all is the logitech wireless playstation 2 controller. Gaming from anywhere in the room, it was a dream come true. The thing has all the features of a dualshock controller, but a slightly lighter weight and lasts ages on the batteries. I replace them once a year.

I bought this Analog / Analogue joystick last month.
I had one back in the day. It helped me win the championship in F1GP!!

Great Thread... Well, I liked the original Atari 2600 controllers, but they were VERY unreliable, for me anyway.... So, my 2600's and C-64's and C128's , all have Epyx 500XJ 's (Anyone remember the 5-year / 5,000,000 shot warranty ?? Pretty sure Epyx itself folded before the 5 years was up :p
My 'main' Amiga has a Honey Bee Comp. Pro CD32 pad, made in China, but I do like 'em... For certain games, I still think a joystick offers more control... I remember some of the funky jumps in Turrican to get 1Ups, etc. were a lot easier with a joystick versus a joypad.
I have had a TAC-2, a SlikStick, a Python, but all either broke, or were lost after a move :sad

I remember using joysticks from the Quickshot series (http://svi.s31.pl/quickshot.html), and I must have had the famous Epyx model, but the memories are blurred.
Brands were not that important in the early 90s, what I mean by that is the manufacturers did not carry a strong corporate image. Admittedly, joysticks were not made to be kept over the years.
Good joysticks usually had micro-switches but there were exceptions.

Wow, You've just reminded me I still have one of those Epyx joysticks here packed away some where. Barely used it.

Mine was the Powerplay Cruiser - Green with yellow buttons and a pink stick...
It was virtually indestructible having all microswitches and it also had an adjustable torque/stiffness which was perfect for many different games - for example on the loose setting it was perfct for joystick waggling games and on medium it was perfect for SWOS...
Wish I could use it on my PeeCee with WinUAE :(

For Amiga sticks the Zip Stik was my favourite, followed by the CD32 Competition Pro pad.
Joysticks overall it has to be the X-Arcade range, and my Slik-Stik Classic board.

Fear it's curiously anti-sinister design logic;
http://info.sonicretro.org/images/2/2e/Sms_stick.jpg
Looking back, I sometimes wonder why the gaming industry settled on a left-handed stick (with buttons on the right) as the standard, because the majority of the populace are right-handed... but anyway, I loved this stick because it worked on every Amiga game that I played that could use two buttons, it was quiet and soft but yet completely unfazed by even a serious beating in games like Speedball 2, and it seemed to have bullet-proof reliability; I've mentioned else where it lasted from around 1990 to 2002 in use for hours almost every single day on either the Sega Master System or my Amiga and as far as I know, still works today, being finally retired only when I moved to a PC for my gaming.
Nowadays I've got a USB competition pro, and a Saitek P990 analog pad, but for true gaming I have to admit I've stayed with the cheap but cheerful;

It's the Logic3 Tri-format Arcade Stick. I picked it up off eBay brand new for about £5... When I opened it, the stick rattled as if there was a broken component inside, which I eventually traced to a plastic leg and screw that had snapped off another stick and ended up in my case somehow. It has all the virtues of the old Sega classic though; it's soft without being inaccurate or brittle, it's relatively ergonomic despite looking like a cubist's wet dream, and it even works across 3 different gaming systems at least. Good stuff, and highly recommended (assuming I'm not just lucky in my build of stick, and the same feel is enjoyed by others... a fair few seemed to love the old SMS pads here though too, so I'm suspect I'm not totally biased without reason)

I think this weekend I'll play a nice game of 'hunt a arcade stick on the internet' :D X-Mas money has finally arrived and now I really need one of these thingies, since everybody who owns one recommends then and I always loved the NeoGeo arcade stick. Wish me luck for a bargain guys ;)

I use this:
http://www.thosewerethedays.de/items/joysticks/action_pad_am_logic3.JPG
It has a great autofire buttons and the 8-way controller works well. Probably the best product that not so great LOGIC3 ever produced for the Amiga!
