Mod as in Module, ya know Amiga music files;)

I have two favourite's at the moment, Starworx by 4-mat, short but good IMO:)

and Necroscope by Mantronix, if you read some older threads you'll already know I love this mod, I reckon it can't be beaten, I challenge you all to find me a better mod, post the name of your favorite mod or post it into the zone and we'll have a mini competition;)

Best mod wins a prize of some sort, yet to be decided.

I am the soul judge of this competition and my desicion is FINAL:p

Hi Mod lovers :)

Just a little question : as your 2 choosen mod could be called as "chip tune", do you limit the choice to a lenght of 50ko for example or simply put no size limit ?

RCK

tooooo late,
Ian didn't precise max size or "categorie" for the mods :p

mine is already 422k and not "pure" chiptune.

Ian

No, there is no size limit, apart from the limit on the zone, which is 2mb:)

And what I mean by mod, is any file that is recognised by the ModPlug player, as long as it was created by an Amiga:)

I hope this clears things up a little:)

Rules updated for those picky people:p

And yes RCK you are currently in the lead:)

One of my favorite mods is Alien Breed 3D se by Feekzoid which was made on 06/05/96. I like this mod as it builds up an atmosphere and has sounds taken from the film. I have uploaded it to the zone:D

Also here a tune that brings back memories as it was one of the first mods I played on my Amiga with Octamed 3 called fantasy.

Two more I like is live for tomorrow and teckno-cop. ;)

Edit: Attachments deleted and moved to the zone.
Nice and tidy for Ian.:cheese

This MOD is so unique... there's nothing else quite like it.

It must win! :)

If it doesn't have to be an original and can be from a game (as i only have game MOD's) then i would say either Project X or Chaos Engine but if i had to pick one it would be Project X

I suppose the fileformat will have info about the program that created it. They kind of tag it, afaik.

If I create a Protracker mod with FastTracker and I compare it with a mod done with Protracker on the amiga, suppose they wont be the same.

As usual, Akira is right, most mod players list what program the mods were written with, also if it had 18 channels that would also be a give away would it not;)

From the old skool sound sample disks it would have to be
Cream of the Earth...

http://www.modarchive.com/C/index11.shtml

but (my personal choice ) I think the Guitar Slinger (jogeir liljedahl) is still a fantastic Mod & still manages to move me even now...

...
gosh there was more .. 4-mat stuff was cool as was Allistar brimles stuff (did you know I shot him in a game of company paintball once!!?)..
And who did the tracks for the desert dreams demo? that was awesome too...oh and those chip tunes where cool to specially the delta music player/jam cracker stuff.....on & on & on...

Hey, that is a good statment !

File format allowed for post attachment are now only for "usefull" stuff :
gif - jpg - png - uae

All others big data should be uploaded into the zone.

Ok, give me one reason why you needed to change that?

have you ever clean a board PJ ?
is really a pain to look for all those old attachment in order to provide users more webspace for future message...

The zone is here to help us to have a board as clean as possible.
The only interesting attachments (who should have one life > 3 days) are only Picture and config files IMO.

So that's why we are trying to limit this.
