Ok the problem:
I have been trying to get UFO - Enemy unknown working (5 disks) but it's doesn't I used ECS13 but when it gets to the Mission screen, the screen just goes completely Black and nothing happens :(

Err, isn't there a specific section dedicated to "game problems" ?
On the main page, scroll down a little you'll see it :)
As for your problem, i suggest installing it to harddrive, i know this game is very slow on the miggi are you sure it's not just loading?
BTW: I noticed on this (http://network54.com/Forum/message?forumid=14279&messageid=1006045749) forum you mentioned that you had "no probs running it on the WinUae" ?

Right 1st of all it used to run fine on my Pentium 3 but since then I have changed PC's and a lot of hard ware.
So I thought (After I had Posted on the froum) that I would see if i had the right Config, but it won't seem to work on my P4. Why ?? Who knows.
As for "been a specific section to games problems" I really didn't notice.
Since I got my P4 I have had some difficulties with emulators (Virtual Playstation won't install as it says I need a Pentium class machine" go figure.. LOL
So Now this is why I posted on this board, saying it won't work.

And here I am not considering upgrading to winXP:( So does that mean emulators in the future won't support zip so thus I'd have to unzip my MAME or SNES games if I were to play them?

I had the same problem with the ECS-version. The only solution I found is to install the game on harddisk.

Is anything sacred? Soon, everything will have to pass through Windows. He's gone for compression, firewalls, CD burning...what is left? MAME being built into Windows?

I've just installed XP, and it pretty good considering it's from M$.
I don't know if this is what you meant §ane, but WinUAE can't access any of my ADFs that are in zip files. They don't show up in the file selector.
They showed up a while ago will I was running W98, but when I installed a new version of WinUAE none of the zip files showd in the file selector.
Is there something I need to put in a directory or something, I have the zlib.dll there already.

Try entering *.* into the file name box and pressing enter, all files should now become visible.
Although i haven't tried this myself through a file requester, double clicking a zip file should open it like a directory, if WinUAE attempts to open the file instead then try right clicking on a zip, there should be an option to open it through explorer, shell or something.
I'm not running XP so i can't tell for sure whether this will work or not, it should in theory.

It don't work:sad
It does as you said, WinUAE just inserts the zip file, trying to open it any other way just opens it in a new window.
Heyho:cheese
BTW integrated zip file support wasn't introduced with XP, it was also in ME.

Even if it did work, having to type in *.* every time into the requestor would get old fast. I just wish the damn thing would just support zip files and be done with it. Some of us will never upgrade to XP and it just seems elitist to leave out a function like that and only have it available to a select crowd of users of the latest OS. I'll buy a Mac before I install XP.
