I'm a .adf guy myself... but this WHDLoad concept makes me curious.
I've been doing as much research as I can.. and for the life of me.. I cant seem to find any comprehensive guide on how to install WHLoad from scratch so it incorporates WinUAE.
I've been told by a mate from Russia to install and setup AIAB? But I cant seem to link the two together.
So help or a link or two would be appreciated.

I am no expert here far from it but i think you are confussed!
Whdload is a system for running hd installs with pre-set settings
.Adf's are floppy disk images self contained for winuae (and other emulators)
AIAB is Amiga in a Box that is a self contained Amiga setup for your pc including everything to run amiga software bar the legal roms you require (kickstart 1.3 etc)
My recommendations to you are:
1: Get Winuae and install it! (you must have kickstart images 1.3, 2.05.3.1 etc)
Also you will require Workbench disks corresponding to the kickstart version you use ie Workbench 1.3, 2.05 or 3.1 (these are adf files)
2: Get AIAB (Amiga in a Box) from here http://aiab.emuunlim.com/
This is very very nice setup which makes an Amiga look like a more modern system.
Again you will require respective kickstart roms etc. As it's built upon Winuae.
3: Once you've done the above get Whdload Registerd from http://www.whdload.de/
Pay for it it's worth it i am going to get it soon (as soon as i can find a method to pay for it)
This is interim help and i am sure someone who is much better at explaining and much better at running Amiga stuff will be along to help you anytime soon ;)

Hehe cheers mate.
Nah I'm only confused with the WHLoad thing, I know what its for... its just doing it.
Will download and install AIAB and then transfer all my old Workbench discs.
Its just where to go from there that is stumping me.

don't bother with AIAB nowadays as it is now a little outdated and not supported..
Get the Bloodwych classic WB installs instead :D

have u installed the nag version of whdload???? ie the one that comes up with the screen about it being shareware etc??? if you get that place it in your c\ folder within winuae that will be ok for the most basic games however for more complicated installers it will need to go in another place bah i suck at explaining things ;) as long as u have whdload and some whdload installer games then you can proceed within your winuae setup!
of course i am assuming you are running winuae with a pre-installed hd via pc folder or a hard file! I use mine via pc folder with winuae!

Yeh.. thats the bit I seem to be missing.
At the moment, all I have is the bog standard WinUAE with my Kickstarts and .ADFs.
Its where to go after that.

You need to setup a virtual/hard file drive be it in a pc folder or with a hard file! then install workbench on it and away you go! (as tho it's a real Amiga hd with workbench on it and winuae access's it as it's main drive)
If you want help doing this i can guide you through it if you are on MSN pm me tommorow as it's getting a bit late for me now. Getting tired ;)
