Use this thread to post datfiles of the 1000 or so files you are currently renaming!

This is so we don't all rename the same old shit, we can just move them aside until they are included :)

Here is my current dats.. Approx 1.3gb of ADF's (Though a few wont be included)

Also, I've just looked at the 2 dats posted & they both contain adf's that are already in TOSEC.

I've attached a dat for each person that just contains those files that are already included in the TOSEC set. Also attached is a dat containing just those files that are contained in both MAI & TCD dats.

Commodore Amiga - Games - [ADF] (TOSEC-v2006-10-19_CM).dat
All the ADFs are currently not in this dat.
Should i compare with other dats?:confused
What are the dats, i have compare?
@CD: I will remove the files from my dat, which are in both dats!!!

Thanks [idoru], but I have the same question as maimai ;)

The last publically released dats aren't the newest dats that exist for the Amiga section, that's probably why there's files you didn't exclude previously.

We don't tend to make any pre-release dats available apart from to trusted active renamers. I've compared them for you for now, so if you work on these files as above for now, then when some renamed files get submitted we can probably review access to dats to make things easier in future. I also have no idea if bippym has changed anything in the newest dats I gave him or not.

(Not trying to say either of you aren't trusted if you see what I mean, but you are both new to the renaming so please don't take offence :P).

Alright, then let's do some renaming to earn the credits for the WIP dats ;) Thanks for the info [idoru] :great

Thank you, [idoru]

I will remove the files.
I know, there are files in my dat, which are included in the last TOSEC PD-release, nevertheless i have included in my dat, because i thought this files should be included in "Commodore Amiga - Games - [ADF]", because HOL
means all this games were commercial releases.:confused

Here is the updated dat.(not fully renamed yet)

[idoru]

I haven't checked HOL for awhile but AFAIR it does include some non-commercial stuff in its database.

If there's something already in any of the TOSEC Amiga dats that you think needs moving to another dat, just let me have a list of filenames & info on where you think it needs moving to & why. Including the adf's again in submitted renamed files gets very confusing.

(BTW, to help with making things easier to spot for errors/problems/duplicated checksums/etc, I tend to ask for newly renamed submissions to be made as a set of actual renamed adf's which I add to the dats myself).

HOL does indeed include non-commercial stuff.

I'm bored shitless now after 5 months off work after my car crash, so bored I might do some renaming :lol

Any chance you can send me the new dats so I can get rid of everything that's already done?

I am not one of these newbies ;)

I've not added anything yet, just fixed some naming issues from the corrections thread!

I will be adding some stuff when I do some renaming of my own ;)

Any idea when a new DAT of any kind (for Amiga) will be released/leaked? Its been... what.. one year or two since we have had one?

PandMonium
15 November 2008, 21:32
lol it would be released once all current problems were solved, since there lots of checks and corrections going on and lack of time / people it probably would take long so i suspect there will be a release before this happens, when only idoru knows.

Any idea approx how many files are currently out with renamers - gives an idea of what MIGHT be in the next DAT release I guess??

PandMonium
02 April 2009, 23:15
hi Methanoid :)
that is very dificult to know (at least for me :p) and lately the focus is more in sorting out what we have now instead of just dumping new sets inside the dat (lots of alts etc), anyway last datfile had 21852 sets and a new dat (that will eventually be out someday) will pass the 23000, thats all i can tell you since i don't rename or collect so i don't know what is out there being added by bippym and others.

But, like i said mai and others are currently (thankfully) fixing the current sets, thats why they will not get tons and tons of new sets, other part is that afaik since it already covers most of the stuff now it is a bit boring to test and rename new sets when mostly will be alts or something :s

PS: anyway there are always new stuff to add, for example the "Garbage - Commodore (2008-12-27)" has 300k romfiles :S i don't know much about it and don't have any but i suppose most of if is garbage and don't want to believe that all these are not yet @ tosec :s

Methanoid
03 April 2009, 00:07
Ah, thats what I should get.. the Garbage Dat.. at least it could tell what files are "unique" then and what might eventually get renamed?

PandMonium
03 April 2009, 02:24
yes you can try to use it and it will rename known files but to things like:
1869_AGA_Disk01_ger.adf
AegisSonix2_0_b.adf
...
but at least you know what you got that is known and could eventually end up in tosec :p
The dat is for Commodore, not only amiga and is created by Yori Yoshizuki, you can get it here: http://www.4shared.com/account/file/77774761/9acd4f88/Garbage_-_Commodore__2008-12-27_.html

ps: i know nothing about it since i don't use them :p
