I'm actually dumping Zombi from Ubisoft french retail Version ^^.

After checking, the game is copy protected. The same protection as Iron Lord ^^.

I tried to install Dark Seed to my HDD, and guess what... disk 2 is dead. :( The strange thing is that it gives me errors on different tracks depending on the drive I use. Should I dump it in this condition?

EDIT: WWarp IS able to dump it, so the CAPS/SPS dumping tool should be, too. I'll give it a try.

EDIT2: and after a few tries, DIC is able, too! Maybe I can save it, after all...

Yes the disks are too old, and have not been used since a long time.

The same happens oftenly to me.

Well, that's the problem we are trying to solve here. :) Anyway, I was able to install the game after a few read retries (which means the error is recoverable) and it seems to work, so I have dumped and uploaded it.

IFW

Ishar 1, 2 dumps only have the txt file, the dumps themselves are not included.

dlfrsilver
12 April 2006, 16:03
You want me to include them ? we already have ECS versions in French...

IFW
12 April 2006, 17:22
Thought they might be different versions - though unlikely - unless the one we have are from the same collection?

I'm too familar with the entire RAW -> IPF process. Thus, I'm curious would you reduce the reduncy of checking all the dumps if a CRC is provided in the database? That way the potential submitter can check that vs sending it in and checking it yourself? Thanks.

IFW

ipfs are not raw dumps, only ipfs can be checked and their crc is only good to identify an existing image if you know the release id, comparing images requires something very different.

I meant providing the raw dumps' CRC values for a quick check before submission.

RAW dumps are very different - i've noticed that subsequent dumps of the same disk will result in different file sizes.

You can never step in the same river twice... same with reading out varying analogue signals through a digital sampling path.
