Hello People,
I got this morning Exile A1200 + the discovery disk.
If i put the ADFs of my original in the zone who will try to create an
installer for it ?

Already got images for it. As far as I am aware, the Discovery disk is merely a save disk much like the supposed extra missions in Mercenary III

Can you create the installer for this game pleasssssseeeeeee ^^

Yes, but I want it extensively tested, I don't want the same crap that the ECS version of Exile had! ;)

Hm, was it the crack that made Exile ECS bug out, or was there a bug in the original?

Every cracked version wasn't 100%

Well, if you put a trainer, why not ? many people would love to test the game, to see
if the copylock is correctly removed.

I have put a test crack for you in The Zone. With forced trainer.

I've just about finished my install for this and the CD32 version now - just need to finish load/save game support. I might as well add a trainer too, so that people can actually explore more of the game to test it ;)
The Copylock for the AGA disk version is pitiful compared to the ECS version. The SAME copylock is called twice - once during loading of disk 1, and once during disk 2 - and neither of them did anything special after being called - even some text in the game's manual explains that only the ECS version contains advanced copy protection as well as the codeword entry (omitted from the AGA version).
From the looks of this version I'd have said the game was programmed with CD32 in mind and a copylock was bolted on purely for the sake of checking that people weren't copying the disks.
Anyway, I'll get save game support wrapped up over the coming days and get a test version out for you all to try.

How does one actually use the Discovery disk?

How does one actually use the Discovery disk?
the Discovery disk is basically a Save disk. You simply insert the disk in the drive from the load/save part of the game.

now that galahad is actively working on slaves again (suggested by the SB2 install) , maybe he'll consider picking this one up if asked nicely.

I could be persuaded.

Hello then, Galahad :)
Would you consider creating a slave for Exile AGA, please? It's a great game in my books and the only thing it's missing is the possibility of running it from HD. I've gotten a little tired of popping in disks to play it on my A1200. The Speedball 2 slave is awesome btw. I had longed for this particular one for a long time.
Either way, eternal thanks for considering :)

BTTR has a HD installed version : http://www.back2roots.org/Get/Exile%2C7/
On the page they claim that it's the WHDLoad version : http://www.back2roots.org/Games/HD-Games/Update//239/ :confused

I thought it might be a generic slave but it's not.
Infact it's not WHD at all 'cos there's no slave in the archive. ;)

You're right :agree Here the start of the readme :
Short: HD Installer & Patch for Exile V1.0
Author: jffabre [at] ensica.fr (Jean-Francois Fabre)
Uploader: jffabre [at] ensica.fr
Type: game/patch
Would be interesting if it works on a real AGA Amiga too ;)

if JOTD still has his source-code for that version, it might be quite easy for someone to create a WHDload slave for it

That version from BTTR works like a charm! Thanks so much!!!

Exile AGA/CD32 (http://whdload.de/cgi-bin/mailto.cgi?reci=2) (Audiogenic), 90% complete - AGA savegames done - CD32 to do 9.9.2008 DJ Mike
Maybe DJ Mike complete this one in the near future. Only load/save support for the CD32 version is missing yet.

If it's true, someone should contact with DJ Mike.

Sadly my WHDLoad activity sank to 0% some time ago. The Exile install is done but for CD32 saves/loads - that's it. I managed to make the install work without resorting to using KickEmu, meaning it starts up a whole lot faster. I'll try to work on the CD32 saving/loading in WinUAE but my real Amiga is packed up for the time being so if someone wants to finish this one off, there's always a possibility for using my source.

Just small refresh to subject. I thouth that with such interest from public this patch would be made in month but looks like it's not.

I've asked JOTD about it, afterall, he has already installed it once :)
And still not finished :(
