I have just bought the Amiga Forever Plus Edition online for $46, downloaded the Zip file to my PC, and when I double click on it, it says:

"COMPRESSED (ZIPPED) FOLDERS ERROR
The Compressed (Zipped) Folder is invalid or corrupted."

What do I do please!!? :banghead

I have already installed WinUAE-1.1.
Thats it.

Your help will be appreciated! :help

Thanks,
Sid

How do u close the Workbench in WinUAE?

It says:
"Cannot quit yet, there are 4 WB launched programmes running. "

...but I can't see anything?

your question is answered by its author I believe in another thread

Clicking Quit/Exit only sets flag which is checked in main emulation loop and only when it is safe to exit. Of course this can be improved but it is yet another "not worth the trouble" update :)

Use ALT-F4 to exit :cool

Thanks... it worked!

Ok, so if I want to download a game... say Premier Manager 3 Deluxe, from here:
http://www.planetemu.net/index.php?section=roms&dat=257&action=showrom&id=338208

...I have downloaded the zipped .adf onto my PC... how do I get to play it???
Does it need to go into the WinUAE?

It says it needs to know how to open the file (with what program?)
:confused

Basically, all I wanna do is play games... am I doing the right thing??

This is not what he means ;)

Workbench QUIT option in menu is really rather pointless and redundant.. There are programs running in the background that WB launched, and because of this WB wont quit (and there'd be no point in quitting WB anyway!!)

@bippym:

If Workbench quits you can be quite sure that no program is running any more and it is safe to power down. Sometimes it happens that you edit a document and leave it open in the background while you work on something different. Now if you forget about the document and switch off the computer, the updates are lost. So if you always quit Workbench before power-off you can be quite sure that all your work is saved.

However, quitting Workbench is quite a lot of work. First you have to find out which programs are still running. This usually means to run Exchange and quit all commodities. Then look up WBStartup and check which programs were not quit by Exchange. Most of these are stopped by running them again.

At last you probably get the message "workbench.library open count = xy". Now you have to open a shell and enter AVAIL FLUSH. After that you may be able to close Workbench. Unfortunately some programs cannot be stopped or they forget to close workbench.library in which case Workbench cannot be closed.
