WHDload & Blizzard IV 1230 Probleme

Hi, I'm french user.

I Have a A1200 with a 50Mhz card and 64Mega (68030 so with Mmu)
Blizzard IV 1230 - 50Mhz 64Mega and Kick 3.1

I have fully re-install my workench (from scrach)
I have Only Workench 3.1 install and idefix97
and the last Whdload, i Have also

kick33192.A500
kick34005.a500
kick40068.A1200
kick40068.A4000

no *.RTB files and my Whdload.prefs it's empty


I have test many demo and just 3 games (my orginals)
Enigma demo, State Of The Arte, Nexus7, Hardwired works good.
Turrican II - Work Good
Alien Breed II - Don't Work
Xenon II - Don't work

If i put tooltype MMU for Xenon2 or AlientBreed II the probleme change.
Or the screen freeze, black screen and if i reset my a1200, the screen
become red.
and, if no MMU in my tooltype, i Have a PopUp Error with Whdload.

Is they are many soft or configuration for Whdload with Blizzard 1230 ?
and special config for MMU ?

You can make global prefs in S:WHDLoad.prefs. You should definitly use the MMU on a 030 Card.

For the Games not working, following could be the Case:
*) Your Version of the Game is unsupported
*) Your Version of the Game is damaged
*) WHDLoad needs to be registred to be able to run it (though you would get a approate message if thats the case)

Other than that WHDload should cause NO troubles.

The other possibily is that you have a bad revision A1200 ( 1.D.4 & 2.B) which can cause instabilities with Turbocards. Look here: http://www.ianstedman.co.uk/Amiga/amiga_hacks/A1200_Mobo_fix/body_a1200_mobo_fix.html

Generally, I would recommend you to use Blizkick for your System( though that wont change anything with WHDLoad, its a musthave for any Blizzard Card IMHO): http://www.iki.fi/sintonen/sw.html

You shoud baught IDE interface form elbox for example. much better.

My Motherboard revision is 1B, maybe, not good...

I try to use 'Blizkick', I don't already read the manual :)
Just tape on a newcli 'blizkick' and i see no change with whdload
xenon2 already don't work.

And this is the last version of whdload and last installpatch for xenon2

==> I don't think this is the probleme, Even I had a workbench install with a lot of soft (miamy, mirc,....) and I use it for long time and i never had any probleme.

I have a IBM Hd and DVD rom (slave) connected on a simple ribon
just a 2p1/2 ======= 3p 1/2======3p 1/2


I Think maybe a hardware error on my motherboard or a scandoubleur probleme.

That i find strange it's, when i try to use MMU with whdload (so, the MMU option in the tooltype), all WhdFiles don't work, I have a whdload Popup that say :

Exception "access fault" $A0008
PC = $6BEE930 (Resolad $1390)
Byte write to 80000

Amiga 1200 revision 1B Put in ATX tower
2 floppy standard
1 PCMCIA card (3Com 3c509 i think)
1 Hard Drive IBM (Master)
1 DVDRom (Slave)
They are connected on a single ribbon standard

a A1200 ScanDoubler internal
A a1200 Internal Keyboard Hack (see aminet At_Keyboard_1200)
A little interface with PIC chip to connect a PS2 PC mouse)
connected on Souris mouse port 'sub-D9' 'aminet also' :)

Hummmmm, Connected on a 15" PC screen EIZO L350
(that is don't work good on 49.9Hz)

A standard Workbench install (new, 2 days)
Only IdeFix97 (last on aminet)
last version of Whdload
and now, 'Blizkick'.

i Have also installed 'checkmmu' find on Aminet
And On a newcli, after CPU FASTROM command and checkmmu command
it say me I have well a MMU 100% work.


I Think the probleme is coming to the amiga work with the Mmu on my card
or software config
or hardware probleme
or... I don't know :)

And on my card the jumper J1 'Maprom' is open (Maprom On)
and J2 '60-70ns mode' is close (60ns mode selected)

I search on my PC under WinUae to the same config of my 1200
for do 'not work' the xenon2 version 'like my real A1200'

And finaly I find... My Register file is not good, File corrupt i Think
It's Work good with no register file !

If it is a legal key then contact the WHDLoad guys and I'm sure they'll send you another :D

If it's a pirate key then you deserve to suffer!!! (WHDLoad is still supported, and a lot of the team is on here regularly!!!)

I Repeat,IT's a LEGAL KEY...
again once ? LEGAL KEY

I have again the original mail with my good key,
so I just had to transfert it again on my A1200.
No necessary to contact the Whdload Team.

Speaking of those .RTB files what are those for? Do you need to have both the rtb files and the kickstart files in the same dir?

Yes, you need the actual ROM image and the matching RTB files in the Devs:Kickstarts directory.
