One of my bugbears when emulating CD32 is trying to get the disc to load. Often I mount a game with Alcohol and just get the no disc screen. This seems to be game specific? (Sorry, no examples...)

Nice if there was a CD tab in WinUAE where an ISO/mdf could be directly mounted. :)

cheers!!

No, sorry.

Most CD32 games have audio tracks and emulating CD Audio properly is very complex and not worth the trouble. (and I am not going to "support" ISO-only images with audio tracks ripped..)

I think it would be nice to concentrate on 'pure' CD32 titles emulation. On certain games, WinUAE seems to get mixed up a bit when it's time to start/stop playing the cd-audio off the cd. Maybe this is CD-DVD drive properties-dependent?

I'd like an option to use the old style cd system, that was used before; yeah, I know it didn't support any amiga goodies, but configuring AmiCDFS or ASIMcdfs can be a bear, sepecially the part where you try to get the files off of the cd....

Don't be lazy, real Amigas also require CD filesystem, only difference is the name of the device :)

Seriously, old cd system's media change code was really ugly hack. I am not going to put it back.

I mount my ISO files using Daemon Tools. Once it has been accepted I then boot up the WinUAE emulator and WinUAE automatically boots the ISO file. As far as I know the same should work for Alcohol 120%.

Just seems a bit flaky - I couldn't get Team17's ProjectX/F17 CD booting just now (think I got it off BTTR) and it's accessible in Windows and the blue CD light flickers briefly in WinUAE .. but just doesn't boot.
I've got AMD XP2800 756Mb GeForceMX420 XPsp2 , alcohol 1.9.2, WinUAE0.9.92 :guru

First point, I think you need to select the 68020+FPU processor.

Second point, are the CD32 Kickstart rom and Extended rom in the directories specified in your configuration file?
If you change the processor and the rom files are in the right place then you should be able to mount the iso/bin file of the Team 17 CD with alcohol and when you boot up WinUAE it should run the file.

i've got all the roms in the right place and cds sometime do boot. I do wonder how it knows which drive the cd might be in?
