I was thinking of tosec'in my Lazuruz collection & all the crap that I transfered myself over the years. But a lot of the stuff is .adz.
I've tried romdoctor is there one that supports the .adz & zips
thanks

I have no idea if any support ADZ. I would love this ability too since I have a few ADZ's that I've been unpacking then running through the renamer

If you do end up doing it Turk182, would you be able to tell us how many the TOSEC dat's didn't recognise? I'd be interested to know

I may give it a go. I dont fancy upacking 2 cd full of adz though, maybe Ill write a script or something

I wrote a script in java to produce a bat file that gunziped everything from the 2 cds to my harddrive.
I was some what suprised to see that around 10-20 unrecognized disks were present for each alphabetical directory (within the games dirs).Strange but true.
I wonder if these where save games or non working games but
stuff like Adventure construction kit actually worked even thouhg it wasnt recognised

Batch Zip toolkit.

It zips up your files individually in a number of formats including adz.

What we really need though is zip support in the next release of the Amiga emulators (please!)

Yeap, if you add a save game or do anything that saves to the disk there is a good chance this will make the disk unrecognised by TOSEC, this is because when you add something you change the checksum of the disk. All of them will should still work though.

ren *.adz *.adz.gz

then use winzip to extract em :)

What I meant was that these games were already saved on before lazarus made the CD set ,I thougt the lazarus set would be the obvious choice of checksum for tosec because it is quite an old collection by internet standards now...
Yes I know all that rename *.adz to gzip etc..
But I needed the practice ;)..
Though I cant understand why UAE doesnt let us list .zip files ,anyone wanna mention it to codepoet?

how to convert dms files to adf en mass.

get dms2adf.exe off the internet and stick it in your windows directory.
create a batch file called d2a.bat with the following line in it.

for %i in (dir *.dms) do dms2adf %i.dms %i.adf

ok then copy all your amiga dms files from your pir8 cd to a directory on your hardisk

then cd into that directory and type d2a.
When its done type del *.dms and then run the resulting files through your favourite TOSEC renamer.

You could use a similar batch file to zip / unzip files too. I think they still do a command line version of zip dont they?

Lazarus may be old and well known, but if you knew the number of large uncommon sets merged into TOSEC, you would be astonished.
Any compression on ADF's is not conducive for renaming..given the number of packing programs out there and the number of compression levels each supports..u can imagine the mess trying to catalogue it :)

xDMS is a much better DMS utility for the PC, well IMO anyway. ;)

You can get xDMS from many Amiga pages on the web, including WinUAE's page.

Well Im slowly weeding my way through the sheer barrage of disk images I have lying accross my harddisks..
Re-doing them in a tosec kinda way , And making a list of stuff that does not show up on any of the Tosec dBs so far ,(even little differences like a different crack group or trainer).. Will update all soon.

Does anyone have any info or disks images from the pseudo-ops group & pendel europa(demos mainly) ,they did a huge number of compilation disks ,I happen to try out disk 119 it has a lister n everything? anyone got anymore?
(I think p-o were based in the uk)...

@turk182

I'm particularly interested in Compacts, Packs, Collections and Compilations as they are the hardest type of disks to get on Amiga. Also Docs and Utility disk packs are difficult to get, so if you find any of those, please upload. :)

this might be of interest for some of you...

hold you horses, though... it hasn't been released yet ;)

Sounds great!

BTW, morph...what's up with that Amiga Applications TOSEC dat? Surely you regular Amiga TOSEC lot had nothing to do with that thing. It's damn near useless with its all lowercase names and massive errors and incorrect information. That should be scrapped and started over from scratch.

Actually, I have nothing to do with the Apps dat, although I know the person who made it. Don't be too harsh on him though. You gotta remember that all the dats have to be considered in terms of BETA software. There's no guarantee that they will work, and the information they contain might not always be 100% accurate. Feedback is of course always welcome, and if you have any suggestions, don't hesitate to contact the dat author.

All of the DatFile Information fields (for author, etc) are unspecified (in ClrMamePro) nor was there any info in the actual file itself or the zip containing the dats, so I have no idea who the author is.

The kind of incorrect info is like:

acu sound utilities disk 06 (19xx)(piratesoft).zip

which is clearly Disk 09 when you boot it up. And it's Pirasoft, not Piratesoft. There are gads more examples. But I just grabbed one.

And in the actual datfile, every instance of a filename features mixed case names except for the part that renames the file, where it goes to lowercase. I can't imagine why. I'd have contacted the author as soon as I got it if I had any info on him.

After downloading loads of missing files ,rediting lazarus CDs & adding & editing on my own floppies I have a Hard drive full of adfs.. I am missing a load of classics still I reckon (like a lot of point and click games ,but there a pain to download 7+disks on a 56k modem!)...
anyway two things any recommendations as classics (TRUE classics) from the list that I should consider? ,Or maybe a trainer version that I missed?
The other thing is to gzip or not to gzip , Im thinking about just batchziping but winuae doesnt support .zip files yet ,sheesh please somebody tell them! then I can recut the lazarus CD + my stuff all in one go!
