a question about whd and the ntsc tooltype, if anyone can help

how come some games don't goto ntsc using the command, yet if i force ntsc before i start the loader it will be in 60hz when loaded, does the slave have to have this option in it or something ? also some games allow it to work but don't even work with ntsc so whats that all about ?
its not a big problem its just a pain when you have to restart to get to the right mode. cos you forget which need to switch and which do it automaticaly if you get what i mean. :banghead

just wondered if anyone knows why :confused

Some games do not run in NTSC, they need PAL. Sucks big time. As some are not even full screen in PAL. (Chaos Engine AGA)

the tooltypes NTSC and PAL makes WHDLoad to initialize the gfx hardware to the choosen videomode. not more and not less.
that this videomode persists for the whole lifetime of the running game depends on the fact that the game does not change it byself. some games (not properly fixed) may do this and the whdload tooltype will be without effect.

the other point is, if the game works properly with a changed videomode. various games are not designed to run fine in PAL and NTSC. e.g. wrong speed in sound and gfx or complete lookups.
some games are also locked (checking current mode) to a videomode to prevent distrubution between europe and north amerika.
