Has anyone tried this on the latest version of WinUAE? The display is all garbled now. Very strange! Crap game though. :)

I have not tried it, I still use 8.14r3 to play it, or winFellow. But to be honest, I much prefer 8.17 r2. This is the best version ever, far better than 8.8 or 8.14. 8.16 was absolute garbage, but that was because of JIT tweaking and debugging.
And its not a bad game in my opinion, m8:)

The latest version is the BEST by an absolute mile. It's just soooooo fast. :) However Nightbreed is pretty shit let's be honest here Fred. :) There's very little you can actually do. It's very linear and looks and feels very rushed and unfinished. Let me ask you one question. Have you managed to run away from that demon guy using the mousbuttons to run? I certainly haven't and I've been hitting them like my life depended on it. :)
Actually let's not get Shitebreed Interactive Movie mixed up with the Nightbreed platform game which is rather good. It's a bit like Shadow of the Beast.

:pDammit, Steve_b...I always get the platform confused with the adventure..yes, the interactive movie is a piece of garbage, so....I completely agree with you!I have never gotten as far as the demon, because I keep getting stuck in the cemetary:p
The platformer is decent, though.

I too got stuck on that bit. I'm thinking that maybe if WinUAE or WinFellow started supporting autofire effects, then we could get past that demon bit easily.

I don't think I know the platform game. I know a beat'em'up game with some platform elements but found it way too hard. For some reason I couldn't fight right and regardless of how well I was doing something just had to kill me.
What is that grenade for anyway?

Here's the other version. This is probably a book licence, while the other one is film licence.

Basically it just follows the movie so you have to see that before you play the game otherwise you won't know what to do. First you have to drive to the hospital and stay there. Then you have to drive to the cemetary while avoiding the road blocks. Once you get there you have to enter the cemetary. Then you get bitten by that demon git that cody posted a pic of. Then you have to run away from him by hitting both mouse buttons really really fast. I think it's impossible though. I think the developers deliberately made it impossible because there isn't any more to the game! Hahahaha. What a scam! :)

Here is what Nightbreed Interactive Movie looks like in the latest version of WinUAE (0.8.17r2). Has anyone else tried it:
This is supposed to be the title screen by the way!!

Looks familiar. Venus the Flytrap had similar graphics problem and I fixed it last weekend by replacing ddfstop &=~1 with ddfstop &= 0xfe (somewhere in custom.c)
ddfstop&=~1 is wrong because some badly programmed games set some unused bits in DDFSTOP-custom register's upper byte.

Ha. If ever there was a badly programmed game then Nightbreed Interactive Movie would have to be a strong contender!! :)
That could be the problem Toni. I'll search for that line Custom.c and change it back just as a test to see if that is the problem.
Hmm. I'm unable to find that particular line in custom.c. I've done a complete search of it. :(
I think I've found it now. Is this it on line 2548?
v &= ~1;
Steve

Yes that was the line. I changed it to:
v &= 0xFE;
Unfortunately after I'd compiled it, it didn't make any difference to the display in Nightbreed Interactive Movie. :(
However it does fix Venus the Flytrap as you say Toni. :)
Does anyone want it posting in the ADF Zone?

Could you upload Nightbreed Interactive Movie to adf-zone? I'd like to take a look.

Happy Debugging!! :)

Happy Debugging!!
Thanks...
It took only 10 minutes to fix this, replace v &= 0xFC with v &= 0xFE in DDFSTRT(). Bit 1 in DDFSTRT and DDFSTOP is documented as "don't care" but apparently this isn't true :)

I compiled it and it displays correctly again!! You're quite good at this debugging malarkey Toni. :) Well done! :)
