I downloaded Beavers from ADF-ZONE and have a problem.
When it asked for disk 2 it loads the title screen fine but when I press fire to start it crashes with software failure.
Could someone attach the correct config to use.
Thanks

Works for me with winuae 8.8r8 using the BTTR AGA3.0 config
Config attached BTW

Thanks for config.
To make it work the cpu needs to be set to 68EC020.
I had the original disks for this game to play on my A600 which did not work either.

Yes, its a AGA game so I would think u need a A1200 or above to play it on a real Amiga.

Are you sure Beavers is AGA?

The file names says AGA
Beavers (1993)(Grandslam)(AGA)[cr Paradox](Disk 1 of 3).adf
Beavers (1993)(Grandslam)(AGA)[cr Paradox](Disk 2 of 3).adf
Beavers (1993)(Grandslam)(AGA)[cr Paradox](Disk 3 of 3).adf
I tried runing in Full ECS mode on WinUAE and the animated intro and title screens load but when starting the game after I press fire to start it crashes with software failure unless I set WinUAE to AGA and CPU to 68EC020.
The disks I brought from the market about 6 years ago did not have AGA printed on them. I got the intro to run on my A600 as I do remember asking myself 'where is the sound?'. :confused
Anyway my Amiga is no more so I am stuck with emulators.
Damn this game is hard:p

I just tried the game using Winfellow
ECS chipset
1 MB memory
and a 7 Mhz 68000 CPU and except for missing music in the intro the game ran fine. And yes you are right, it's darn hard.
As far as I know one of the things about AGA games is their reluctancy to run on pre AGA machines. So either this isn't an AGA game, or Winfellow suddently developed AGA.
Maybe I should put in that I used Kick 1.3 since I only have 1.3 and 3.0 and 3.0 crashes my winfellow emulation.

I'm pretty sure that the first release of Beavers was ECS, but perhaps there is another AGA version?

I tried Drake1009 config in Winfellow alpha v0.4.3 build 1 and it worked fine. But is says AGA in the file name which must be wrong as it runs on ECS. I am confuesed :confused

It can't be AGA, man. I have two coverdisk demos of this okay platformer and they both run and play perfectly on my A500.
Maybe it's an emulator bug? :suspiciou
Maybe the people who gave it the AGA nick must have confused it with the CD32 version. Perhaps there's a chance that this may be so. :theparano

I usually use OCS chipset for Winfellow emulation but because of the other discussions in this thread I tried ECS before playing so it might well run on OCS too.
It looks nice though, what could be enhanced using AGA which would make people bother making an AGA version?

I just played Beavers a bit and found that it worked fine (as I said) with a standard A500 setup. Then a problem arrived, After completing level 1 the stat/score screen appeared ok. Great.
Then it started loading next level whereafter the emulated Amiga rebooted.
Oh well maybe it actually did need AGA so I tried using the AGA setup provided, after a bit of tweaking (like the fact that the BTTR configs are out of date and the config thus set it's chipset to OCS) I had the game running. After the stats screen though it puts up a software error. Has anyone managed to get this game running level 2 as well?
Ah ok I managed with my A500 setup. The 3 disk set of tosec seems to have a knackered disk 2. If you take disk 2 from the 2 disk set (trained) version and use that as disk 2 the game works, at least the first 3 levels do.
