HI

Ive just purchased off ebay the Pc to Amiga transfer pack which includes cable and software.

Ive run the PC2AMRES.exe as it says and I get a dos box saying

"Amiga <-> PC Transferer"
"Resident Installed"

Then as instructed I run the "Mountpc4ks3" on the Amiga but then I get the following errors on the Amiga

"Cant open Prefs/env_archive/sys/def_disk.info for input - object not found" and then
"Cant open Prefs/env_archive/sys/def_pc.info for input - object not found"
Then a pop up appears saying

"Cannot transfer packet for a long time. Check cable and pc software. Retry or Abort"

any help or advice, have i got to change anything in my windows settings or anything?

Im running Windows 2000 with Nortons Firewall and the Amiga is Workbench 3

thanks

T

I presume this works on the PC / Amiga parallel ports? If so, you might change the PC's parallel port type in the BIOS to something else - turn off EPP or ECP. If this software is quite old, perhaps these "newer" port types might confuse it. If it works on serial, my apologies...

I always use this software straight in DOS. I am using winXP and I had to use NTFSDos to make it see my NTFS partition but once I did this it works like a dream in DOS.
