Hi Guys,
Just a small question. I've got the Crystal cracked/trained version of Superfrog by Team 17. I haven't had any problems in game, playing it, skipping levels etc. But after defeating the Witch at the end of the game it prompts for "Disk 3 to be inserted & press fire".

Everytime I've tried it searches that ADF & reprompts again to insert Disk 3. The rest of the game plays/runs under WinUAE 08.8r8 fine. I've also tried the standard WinUAE tricks of ejecting/ inserting the ADF's. Anyone else with this problem-I'd like to see the ending!!:confused

You sure they didn't rip the ending?

I know I've seen the superfrog intro once and only once a long time ago. The version I have now doesn't have the intro (Don't know if it's the same version, *Smacks head against wall* Sure it isn't the same version. Mine isn't trained. Sorry). So there might be a good oppertunity that the missing ending is your problem.

I have had problems with the emulator switching disks too. Haven't really found out what to do either. Since you must already've passed through disk 3 during play it shouldn't be because they were incorrectly labelled.

Have you tried the other disks?

Yes Drake,in the version I downloaded the animated intro doesn't appear either.
I am aware that WinUAE does have occasional hassles re; disk swapping, but even taking those extra steps it still does the same thing.
There is one weird thing though now you mention it. Whilst I haven't played thru every screen, I have played all the levels & I've only been prompted for disks 1,2, & 4. The only time I've been asked for disk 3 is for the ending.
As I said before, everything gamewise appears & plays without fault. :confused

Don't you just hate shoddy cracks! :mad

I still got to fix my Puggsy and Alien Breed: Tower Assault games. At a certain point they just fuck up! Bloody stupid 'crackers'

This kind of stuff teaches you not to get pirate copies :)

My pet hate for any cracked titles are no decent trainers. Forget all that "challange of the game rubbish"! I remember having a copy of Silkworm & went to use a cheat only to see a message saying it'd been removed!! Only managed to complete it once & without an autofire joystick-not fun!!:mad

But after defeating the Witch at the end of the game it prompts for "Disk 3 to be inserted & press fire".

I had the same problem, but only with the trained version! Use the 3rd disk from a version without a trainer.

Note: To see the intro, you have to boot from disk 3. ;)

Thanks WindowsKiller! Had enough hassles trying see enough of Superfrog's later levels even with all the cheats activated it's viscious!! Guess I'll never see the end sequence.:(

But I will see the intro now!:)

I think I remember reading a message in the original .nfo file for this crack that stated you cannot see the ending using the trainer. Possinly not a bug of the crack so much as a punishment for using the trainer. :D

Hello.

I've got a copy of Superfrog from PE2000 and my Disk 3 works as I was able to watch the ending. If you really want to complete the game with the trained version:

1. Download all four disks from LeChuck's Amiga Supergamez.hu (http://amiga.supergamez.hu) (the one where Disk 3 is corrupt).

2. Download only Disk 3 from Pure Emulation 2000 (http://www.pe2000.net)

3. Replace LeChuck's Disk 3 with the one from PE2000.

4. You'll now be able to cheat your way and you can watch the ending.

I didn't even know that there was an animated intro.

The animated intro is on the disk version?

I thought it was only on the CD32 version

Wow, I am amazed at how few people knew this!

I knew there was an animated intro on the disk version but I thought that intros were usually found on the boot disk (Disk 1 logically)

Thanks Exodus!! I still find it difficult trying to download stuff from PE2000-thanks to an old link I bookmarked I can but I do find it weird that it lists what's on there but not how to access the actual downloads directory to do so.

Every other site is pretty straightforward with that, why not that particular site??

Oh yes Twistin & Akira-try playing keyboard controls & see how you fare on some old 'miggy & C64 classics.:D :D

7 Zark, I know where you're coming from, mate. Keyboard control sucks :)

I kne wa bit about the intro animation. wasn't it done by Eric Schwartz?

To answer your question Akira, yes. There was a preview of Superfrog in The One & the Team 17 GFX designer,(Was it Rico Holmes ??), cited Eric's design's in inspiring his in-game GFX.

7-Zark-7: After clicking on a link before downloading stuff from PE2000, it loads up a page with an ad in the centre of the screen. I then usually have to wait a few seconds until it allows me to download. Give this a go.
