I was thinking, We need to add to EAB's FAQ system a list of good sites with Game manual for download. I had a look on google but could not find any which are still active.:(

Next I tried using web.archive.org which allowed me to get:
http://web.archive.org/web/20011216002103/www.callieu.demon.co.uk/agm/agma.htm
(I downloaded all manuals from this for backup)

If anyone else knows of any sites please let me know. Thanks:)

Home of the underdog have some manuals, for pc games, but some of the games are the same as the amigaversion. http://www.the-underdogs.org/manuals.php
Hopefully http://www.replacementdocs.com/ will be back online again

Maybe I should set up such a site?

You folks would have to send me some content, although I do have some on my hard disk already...

There is loads of manuals, help files, walkthroughs contained in the LSD Docs Disk and alike series, available on back2roots.org. Problem is, there is no index / table of contents, so looking something up is a royal pain in the back end.

In an ambitious moment, i started converting some of the "ppmore" docs from those disks to pdf.. problem is, there is thousands of them and my ambition left me once i had what i was looking for.. Took long enough, i think i wore out my Amiga Keys with all the reboots to check out whats on each disk :)

I assume if a few folks would team up and create an index or even a searchable collection of textfiles/pdf files from these (not sure about any "copyright" or moral issues with grabbing somebody elses manuals and sticking them on a web page), that could be a neat idea for a site.

Wow, perfect.. thanks alot...

One wonders, if one could feed that list into a SQL database and make it searchable and then have it spit out a link to the matching .adf...

Thanks Minuous for LSD Docs Disk index file.

Added new section to FAQ:
Where to find Amiga Instruction Manuals? (http://eab.abime.net/faq.php?faq=amiga_faq#faq_manuals_faq).

This was only done in the beginning. Scans are no longer needed for a game to be released. The last game with full scans was released almost 1 year ago...

LSD Docs is the best source. Just in case people are not aware, though, scans of game manuals have been slowly added to HOL in recent months. S.T.A.G. (http://hol.abime.net/?id=3732) and The Art of Chess (http://hol.abime.net/?id=3319) are two recent examples.

GameBaseAMY will be including game manuals for all possible games. However a game will not be refused release just because no manual is available. Format will almost certainly be PDF unless anyone else has any other suggestions. Most manuals are being sourced through the LSD docs at this stage. The titles will be searchable making it easy to find what your looking for. However it is going to take time for this to happen.

PS: Just in case anybody didn't know. Replacement Docs is still missing quite a few 'good' version of its docs since it got hacked. Anybody who thinks they may have a copy can you please upload them to Replacement Docs. Thanks :bowdown

When it's back online...

www.replacementdocs.com (http://www.replacementdocs.com)

Is my favourite - it covers Amiga and a multitude of others - unfortunately it's down at the moment moving servers.

Read my post in this thread:

http://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p=249316&postcount=17

Now, if anyone would host this archive (30MB) we would all have easy access to the LSD docs. :)

Just talked with Josh about scanned game manuals. Are there some new projects? I know, there are a lot of manuals available as text files, but i prefer HQ scans.
