After finish the first level in my A600, the game requests 'INSERT THE OTHER DISK', so I insert the second disk but it doesn't work.

I've tried Company and Crystal cracks without luck, also WinUAE under a lot of configurations (with two floppie drives)

If someone have a working copy, please upload it to the ADF zone.

Thanks in advance.

Did you try to eject the first disk, wait a bit, then insert the second? Did you try an alternate emu?
Maybe this is one of those pirate-proof games.

Nope. I have watched several friends complete the game.

Didn't I ADF the Flashback and Another World originals once and distribute them?

Does anyone still have them?

I've found the solution:

Only works with the Company crack. I must wait a few seconds before insert the second disk and then press the fire button two or three times.

Thanks for the info.

Yeah, Amigaboy. You did. And (naturally) I still have them. :)

The Company were not a very big name in Amiga warez, but they seem to have a good track record with their cracks!

Well, on the other end of the spectrum, Twist, I'll bet there were cracking group(s) that were unreliable.

Yep, for an example of an unreliable group check out 'Hoodlum':

Their version of Suburban Commando fucks up in level 3, their crack of 'Brian the Lion' requests some word from the manual later in the game,....
I bet there are more flaky cracks done by them.

True, but there's only a couple left (I'm talking about the old school way of operating)

Hoodlum
Digital Corruption
Resistance

I think these are the only ones that are still trading

Amigaboy's original works fine and so does the CRYSTAL crack..

When it asks for the other disk, eject the first disk and return to the emulation, it'll probably say now loading or something, then insert the second disk in the first drive.

One thing to note about the original, i think it has one of those ingame protections, if you answer the manual protection wrong at the start your laser will run out of energy and you won't be able to progress to the third level. Or maybe that was a feature of the crack, to give you unlimited laser energy, i don't know, i've only ever played the CRYSTAL version through to the end.

The original (and every other release) has no manual protection

The choose the symbol thingy, according to the mind of me :), says that was probably going to be manual protection but it was never implemented.

The manual I have says nothing about manual protection and doesn't list any of the symbols on that screen

I have played my original through to the end just fine :)

Hmm so the cracks aren't really cracks after all, more like hacks?

I remember as soon as I scored the English version of that game and my co-sysop came by and got a copy, he went home and had the game finished in about two days. He was very good at finishing games from his C-64 days.

My version of Another World indeed has the "choose the correct symbol" thing, but I don't remember who cracked it..

And it was French
