that's something that I always wanted to know, and I don't know why I never asked before here..
Why in Miami Chase and Full Contact , the team made by Andreas Tadic, Rico Holmes & Cia was called Team 7 , and then when they published Alien Breed, they become Team 17?
I know all about Team 17 history but what happened BEFORE Alien Breed (That usually is regarded as their 1st game)
I think it has something to do with 17 bit software, but I am not sure....

Twistin sums it up for you right there :)
I remember in an issue of Amiga Format (AF72, Page 44), they said
"Team 17 arose out of the busy PD scene. Their first game was a budget title called Full Contact. But the game that got them noticed was Alien Breed which was inspired by the film Aliens and is an overhead blasting game"
Well there ya go :)
There's also some other interesting facts in here, such as:
"The first ever Amiga game was Mindwalker, a curious 3D platform affair in which you played a wizard who zapped adversaries with lightning bolts."
"Celebrities Debbie Harry (of Blondie fame) and Andy Warhol were present at the launch of the Amiga 1000 in 1985."
I love Deborah Harry :cool

The two games I have heard the most that was the first Amiga game are Mindwalker and Defender of The Crown. For the longest time, I leaned in the direction of Mindwalker, but something recently changed my mind to DotC, but I can't for the life of me remember what actually changed my mind.

It's hard to beleive that Mindwalker and DotC are from the same era!

The reason people say DOTC is the first game (as I thought for a long time) was because it was the game previewed at the launch of the A1000, with many people claiming "Where's the Laserdisc player?" :)

Good trivia. Thanks. Some also claim Brattacus to be the first, but thankfully that is not the case...

DotC might have been a technological breakthrough, but Mindwalker is a unique concept as never before. well, I havent seen a game like it ever again. I like it a lot.

Thx, the Team 17 stuff was exactly what I thought it was...but it's still not clear why in Full Contact and Miami Chase, they call themselves "Team 7" instead of "Team 17"
I am nearly 100% sure that Mindwalker was the 1st game for Amiga ....
and about Trantor.... I didn't know it got an Amiga release, this game is from Probe Design, it was published also to the ZX Spectrum, and MSX (Maybe the C64 too) ... or maybe it was another game with the same name...

I agree...I am almost 100% certain there was no Amiga release for Trantor.
As for the Team 7 thing, I have not heard an official reason for that early variation on the name.

AFAIK Team 7 was a small group of programmers. All games from Team 7 were published by other companies. That's the reason why "Miami Chase" was published by Codemasters. In 1991/92 they joined 17-Bit Software and Team 17 was born... (Team 7 + 17-Bit = Team 17) ;)
