It does not work if the dongle is not present, because the disk image will be identical to the original disk. But there might be an additional ipf file with contains the contents of the dongle, which can be emulated then :)

Emulating it would be pointless in a real Amiga.
However that dongle shite can't be that hard to build, can it?

Er, I thought CAPS removed the copy protection from games?

So they dont (just checked Flashback). I think I was getting mixed up with WHDLoad.
Can someone check the ENGLISH CAPS release of Flashback please. I just tried it in WinUAE and it just ignores it (the german version works fine) but the English version just acts like it isn't there.

Nope, the IPF is a 100% representation of an ORIGINAL disk.

The game behaves the exact same way without a dongle inserted, but once the dongle is emulated, it will work correctly.
As Duke said, if the dongle contains data then we will make it into an IPF. But it may just be pins connected which will need emulation - but very easy to reproduce Akira :)).
