View Full Version : Need input for new games

As I have so many games to add and need to force myself to do it, I need to work out an order, so first I did all the games I remember playing and my favorites, and then I did the other games that I could remember people talking about.
So basically, can you have a look at what I currently have up - http://atomnet.co.uk/amiga/?p=engine - and tell me what games you would like me to add, otherwise I am stuck adding games that nobody may actually want, so I thought it would be best to put popular and games people actually want up first.
I am also trying to get the WHDLoad version of each game up too, although I am having trouble finding some.
Oh, and I am also putting screenshots up for every game I add now (remember before it said screenshots for every game, but there weren't actually any there :) )
Also any other general comments on what I could improve would be nice too,
Thanks,
Ex

Uhm.... I haven't tried the games, but Pinball Dreams was a staggering 42k when I downloaded it, and there were a lot of other games that their sizes were ridiculously low.
Maybe something went wrong??

Which file did you try to download? As they all work fine for me...

It was the WHDload version.
SpindizzyWorlds.lha
LineofFire.lha
Wizkid.lha
LastActionHero.lha
MagiclandDizzy.lha
Turrican.lha
Captive.lha
Silkworm.lha
Castlevania.lha
Jimmywhitewhirlwindsnooker.lha
Roadrash.lha
RailroadTycoon.lha
PinballDreams.lha
KnightsoftheSky.lha
LostVikings.lha
Moktar.lha
Lemmings2.lha
ShufflepuckCafe.lha
PinballIllusions.lha
ChaseHQ.lha
BumpnBurn.lha
K240.lha
Pirates.lha
all these files were below 100k, ranking from lowest to highest size (Pirates.lha was 95kb). I only listed those below 100k, so I'm sure there are more.
They are all HD-installed versions.

Ah, yeah, those were all wrong. They were all deleted last night and I have changed them all to the proper real version now so have a new look.
I have also added like another 20 since last night too.

Great, thanks. I've just "updated" my library now.
BTW, you hadn't put Wizkid, Castlevania and Knights of the Sky up again. Do you have them?
Well, it's on my wishlist though...

If I can find them, I'll put them up.
On that note, if anyone has any of the WHDLoad files that I am missing, can you just email them all to ben@atomnet.co.uk , Thanks.

if you arent on a good connection, let me know what you need and maybe I can burn them to a CDR for you?

I'm only on ADSL, but don't worry, it's my own mail server, so just send them along and it should work fine. I host the site on this connection too :) (explains why its slow for everyone).

If anyone is after anything particular let me know. I have 2.5 gig of Amiga games, all in DMS format.

Everyone here has pretty much every single Amiga game ever made (12GB+).
I am just getting peoples oppinions on the best games to add.
Marlbro pointed out earlier that the WHDLoads were all corrupted, so I have deleted them all, and temorarily taken the link down while I set them all back up again.

There are still plenty of games which are listed as Missing In Action.
MajicMushroom - I'd be interested in any of the games listed in this thread:
Twistin' Ghost's MIA Master List (http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?threadid=5249)
The Hall Of Light (http://hol.abime.net) also has many games which are missing screenshots. Most of these are MIA.
Thanks!

@Enverex,
Maybe you could post games with a common theme on a frequent basis? Some years ago I had a site with C64 games in different catagories. It received many positive reactions.
Here are some ideas:
- 'Prehistoric' games: Chuck Rock 1 & 2, Bignose, Prehistorik, Dino Detective Agency, Jurassic Park, Joe & Mac Caveman ninja(I'm looking for this game by the way), and Entity.
- 'Licenced' games: Batman the movie, Total recall, round the bend, arachnophobia, Robocop.
et cetera...

Tosec (The Old School Emulation Centre) (http://www.tosec.org)
A bunch of fools who collect computer files (games, apps, demos) and rename them, so hopefully one day most of the files will be found and renamed :)
They then supply DATS to scan your game images and identify, rename and sort them :)
The Amiga section (inc CD32 & CAPS) is by far the biggest, with about 30gb of renamed files totalling around 40,000 individual games or game versions :D
This list is always growing, and I am sure the next DAT release will be HUGE, and there are plans to reorganise the current crop of dats to make things easier :D
p.s Check your PM's

That stuff is indeed common as mud, MJM. :)
Well, what *WE* would be interesting in was if you had some real disks, preferably with scene stuff.
Those are NOT common and some are real gems because hardly anyone thought they'd ever surface again. I have no fear that someone will come to your aid in explaining how to get the stuff to your PC. :)

If anyone can find the WHDLoads that I am missing on my site, please either tell me where I can find them or e-mail it to me.

Biplane Duel. It's on it's own disk in TOSEC and on 2 Amiga Format disks. Also WHDLoad. IMHO best 2 player (on same computer) game ever.
