well I got a proxy on it for AU$40, I am unsure I will go further than that.... I'll see how I feel in 5 and a half days. But I have a feeling the other bidder will wait till last minute :(

Advertising an amiga auction your bidding on before its over in an amiga group is just asking to get sniped.

Unless what you want is available for a very low price with buyitnow I suggest you dont bid on the item untill the last 2 minutes if your on dialup or the last 30 seconds on broadband.

I was curious about the value of the games listed to CAPS, besides, as the auction states, its HEAVY and shipping will cost a fortune. Unless anyone else here lives in the same city.

Besides... I think I have been spoilt, when I got my last A500 with 1084 and games for AU$20 on Ebay (Same city, No freight), and the A500 I got got $5 from a local garage sale.

Spare parts.... we all know these arent made any more, now if I can have a backlog of spare essential parts (Chips, Floppies, motherboards etc).

One of the A500's works, but you stick a disk in, it accesses and then goes back to Kickstart screen. I feel its a floppy problem (or am I wrong). And yes the game loads on other machines. Then there is my A1200, and the A530 for whichever A500 is active.

I assume that a500's are kind of rare in your area. Those machines are plentiful around here (unlike the a1200's). If I had a spare machine for every one I owned I would have to move to a wearhouse. The only duplicate machine i have would have to be a complete Tandy 1000HX that I purchased just to snag the 640k addon proprietary memory module so I could play all the old CGA/TGA pc games in my collection. The price was so cheap (had a broken case) that it was a no brainer, and at least i have the parts in case something does fuckup electronically. I had to stick the spare carcas under a bed to get it out of the way.

Amiga's used to be a common item, it was popular here I believe, but getting them for a good price is hard. I have a mate in Perth's Northern Suburbs who visits his "household recycling center" his council runs, he grabbed several RARE revision A1000's for like $5 each.

now if I actually had the money (Shipping on this is gonna be a bloody killer), and NSW to where I live isnt far, 2 states.

I can see EXTREME value to CAPS in that lot. Just look at all those juicy manuals. I can guarantee the wife wont support me going after that, "You already got too many amiga's". :sad

There is even a 14400 modem in that lot, slow by todays stadards, but if its the exact modem I think it is, My god its a rock solid modem.... i used one to log onto BBS (before intertnet) and it never missed a beat, I even altered mine to speed dial (reduced the time between each digit tone to something insane, Ever dial international and you hear the wierd fast tones that indicate a satellite routed call ?, thats what this sounded like).

What I wouldnt give to be able to afford the shipping on that. :scream
