Some guy asked for this app, but I could not find it. on his own words:
Romrequest for Commodore Amiga
I'm looking for 'Cop' published by Markt & Technik a german distributor. 'Cop' is a disk backup utility somehow like diskmasher.
I can't find it in the TOSEC list, so i would be happy if somebody, can give me a working link.
I am doing some research on that. I have found some more info that may turn the search easier:
COP! is a disk copier and archiver. It is part of the RAP!TOP!COP! compilation of utilities, all written in 1993 by Armin Sander. RAP! is a Stakker-like realtime disk compression system. TOP! is a disk defragmenter.
COP! can use XPK libraries for compressing its disk images, and it can also use four special "PACK" libraries that come with RAP!: lhst (this simply uses the lh.library compression, by Holger P. Krekel and Olaf Barthel), runl (a simple run length encoder), scf1 (a messy LZ77 algorithim by Armin with fast compression) and scn1 (identical to scf1 in format, but slower/better compression)

No one here knows about it? Retroman? Andreas?
Since it is a German release there is hope yet, maybe in the German Amiga Forum.
Come on guys would you let an Amigan down ? ;) :)

You can get a copy of this one at the XADMASTER Site, but Melroc allready stated that it´s not working for him, so he searches for the original old release on Disk ..... I´m afraid this is a tool I´ve never heard of before :sad

Have you ever heard of that? Well, this guy seems to have the ADF we are looking for, as he has dumped it himself:

If you just need something to extract .COP files try to look here:
Amiga Disk Archivers (http://www.amiga-stuff.com/archivers-download.html#disk)

Hmmh.. good idea indeed.. but how do you go about suggesting it to be added to it?? are there any database maintainers dwelling here somewhere in the corners?? :p

I have the Simplex Tools 2 (Rap!,Top!,Cop!) here. I dump the disk asap and put them in the Zone. Stay tuned...
....it's in the Zone just for the case that someone still need it.

Some demos I downloaded from ftp.amigascne.org (e.g. 23c_crew-megademo.cop) have extension .COP and, looking at the header, seem XPKed with SHRI method.
I've tried to use tools taken from Aminet (PackDisk, PackX...) but they are unable to decompress the file.
Any idea?

Look more closely on Aminet.. the .cop format was produced by an old (German?) package similar to DMS (Shake Rattle and Roll or somesuch name..) but if you search for ".cop" on Aminet and download the xpk library, it will uncrunch the disk (after popping up various requestors asking you to register!)
You need the various packers/unpackers in your LIBS: directory, so either install the whole package using the Install icon, or copy the files manually.
Hope this helps.

I didn't find Shake... I'm downloading other tools from Aminet and I hope they will work.
I already have XPK library, but PackDisk, PackX.. don't recognize the compressed file.
Thanks for the help.

The package you want is here:
http://wuarchive.wustl.edu/~aminet/util/arc/xadmaster000.lha
or you can get xxxxxx020.lha or xxxxxxx060.lha depending on what you have...
it's the xadundisk util you need to use after you've put the COP client in the relevant drawer/folder.
As I said, it's quite insistent that you register.
More details about the COP format here:
