View Full Version : Super Oswald
Super oswald http://hol.abime.net/?id=3417 is not in Norwegian, but a danish game.
I think Oswald http://hol.abime.net/?id=2326 also is a danish game, that might have been translated to english
Kalas Puffs Expressen http://hol.abime.net/?id=3909 is another danish game (Guldkorn Expressen) translated to swedish.
Denmark is not the capital of Sweden or Germany.....:D

http://hol.abime.net/?id=754
http://hol.abime.net/?id=755
have the same errors
When the author have a name like jenSEN or hanSEN they are from Denmark or Norway. In Sweden (and Iceland I think) it would be hanSON etc

I've often wanted to visit some Swedish friends in Helsinki.
U just take the boat to Berlin, then you just have to walk a few miles. Or take the train to Istanbul, just jump off on the 2 station to the left

Oh yeah...almost forgot: Oswald I left as Danish | English because I do know for a fact that this game was published in the US by Centaur. Do you know the publishers of these titles in Denmark?

Oswald series updated.
Now for Hugo. Any Hugo experts ready to step in here? We have Silverrock listed as developers of the game (yet they published the Oswald games...did they develop those, as well?) Did they also publish the Hugo games? As the scans indicate, ITE also published this game. Did they also publish the second Hugo game? Or was that Silverrock. (confused yet?)
Also, there is a version of Hugo in TOSEC that is (De)...
Hugo (1996)(Silverrock)(De)[cr LFC](Disk x of 8)
Was this an official release or just a translation? Can anybody confirm any other languages these games appeared on that were official releases?
And I just noticed that "Hugo - Skaermtrolden" is missing from HOL, so I will go add it after I submit this post. Any info on it, natch, is welcome! ;)
This is the kind of shop talk HOL members have around the fireplace at our annual Christmas bash (last year's party was held in Chad, this year will probably be in Amsterdam or Indonesia).
Ups I didn't notice at first, but the 2 hugo entries in hol, are the same game, this is the sequel.
The first game was call "Skærmtrolden Hugo" (or Skaermtrolden Hugo). it was released on 3 discs, you would need 1 MB . It was released by SilverRock Production. This game was review in Amiga Power (no 12) as a PD game, and later they inform that it was not a PD game.
Hugo (1996)(Silverrock)(De)[cr LFC](Disk x of 8) (This is the sequel) BUt this might be the first Hugo game outside Denmark. But its the same as "Hugo på nye eventyr"
Super Oswald was produced and published by SilverRock Production. I don't know about "Hugo på nye eventyr", mayby SilverRock change their name to ITE.
I will have to look through my magazine. I will return with more information as soon as I have them I don't own the org 2 hugo games, only a copy.

Hmm...interesting. So "Hugo" and "Hugo - På Nye Eventyr" are the same game with two unique title screens. It seems "Hugo" is the German version and "Hugo - På Nye Eventyr" is the Danish version., so we'll keep both versions, but I will clean up the other crap.
Can you translate the subtitles Skærmtrolden and På Nye Eventyr to English for us?

According to the cracktro for the German version, they say it is adapted from the TV series on German TV, so I reckon Hugo culture existed in both locations.

Skærmtrolden = screentroll (it was taken from a tvshow, so screen as tv-screen)
På nye eventyr = on new adventure
