If anyone is interested, I've finished a 200 game CD32 compilation CD. For details see this thread at emu-uk:

http://www.total-amiga.com/Vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&threadid=157

(and no, this one does not cost 30 pounds :p )

Can you post the screenshot here, as well, since you have to be registered at EmuUK in order to see it there.

Sure, it's a severely compressed jpeg but it is just to give people an idea of the menus:

This is awesome news. I've only recently got the CD32100.iso and it has breathed new life into my CD32. You can't beat playing Xenon 2 on a big telly. Well done and a big thumbs-up.

Edonkey

ed2k://|file|CD32-100.iso|399108096|8d46cb7b9ecefa110e48cf26783f4123|

Note that this was the first 100 game compilation. I don';t think the new one (200 games) is on Edonkey/mule/fish/cow/etc.. yet.

Anyway, why not compress the file? You'd save some people a lot of downloading time.

Bloody great stuff! Would be fab if all appropriate games were put to CD32 compilation cds!

What info do you show? DO you get it from HOL (would be great if you had) and how do you write this all in?

Really great job Gary :great

eMule/eDonkey heavily compress the files during transfer don't worry about that;) (on a par with or better than WinRAR can do)

Its really a matter of seeing which games will work, what needs to be done for them to start and then adding the details to the menu. The tricky part is downloading and testing the games which takes a lot longer than it seems. Unfortunately there are many games (even WHDload installs) which absolutely refused to work (Cool Spot).

I stole the info from: E.A.G.E.R (Every Amiga Game Ever Released - http://www.jgb.abelgratis.co.uk/) I hope they're not too pissed off for that :nervous I really wanted to show ratings and game descriptions in the text section and couldn't find that in H.O.L. (I stole some screenshots though :nervous )

Maybe there are. Follow the link I mentioned in the first post of this thread for the full details (no www pages yet unfortunately).

Some of the release years from EAGER are incorrect. For example, the Monkey Island 1&2 release years should be 1991 and 1992, not 1991 and 1990. This is a common mistake, because in-game the copyright date is listed - which is the original PC release date. The Amiga versions came one year later.

Ghosts 'n' Goblins was released in 1990, not 1988 (after Ghouls 'n' Ghosts on the Amiga). Cabal was 1989, not 1988.

Also, if you are interested, I have loads of Amiga Power mini-reviews of games - they are due to go into the HOL, but RCK doesn't have the time at the moment!

Yes I noticed that but I think I was too lazy to check for the real ones. Hopefully most are accurate.

Unless there are problems with CD32-200.ISO I doubt I'll do any more compilations for awhile (also my CD32 is dying), but it would be good for H.O.L if it also had descriptions/mini-reviews of games.

Mini-reviews and magazine scores are forthcoming. Dunno when, but they are coming.

hehe sorry for this lame question, but how do i unpack it ??? I run the makeiso.bat file but:

C:\kriz\AMIGAS~1\CD32PA~1>makeiso.bat
Extracting CD32-200.ISO from the 19 .rar files...
rsx not found, DPMI not supported by emx
C:\kriz\AMIGAS~1\CD32PA~1>

something wrong with the download , or ?

Maybe the RAR32.exe won't run on your O.S. (I just did something quickly to extract on win95/98).

It is just a RAR archive. Try downloading and installing a RAR archiving program for your operating system and using that with the first file (CD32-200.part01.rar) and get the .ISO image from the files that way.

Looks like DOS version of RAR using highmemory tricks that won't work under NT-based Windows version.

Better replace it with Win32 command line version..

Awesome!! :great :great :great

I downloaded it yesterday and burned the CD today. What a kick-ass Collection of games. Excellent work mate. :)

I especially love the movie clips of the young ones. Looks impressive running from the CD.

What the hell is the deal with your avatar though? It's just too damn freaky. :shocked
I nearly jumped out of my skin when I saw the bigger version on the CD. Very scary! :laughing

The CD worked really great for me apart from a few games wouldn't work the first time I ran them but then seemed to work on a second attempt. Strange. One game I couldn't get to work though not matter how many times I tried was Super Streetfighter 2 Turbo. When you try to actually play a tournamant or a Vs battle the game stops loading after a few seconds and just freezes on the "Loading" screen.

Apart from that it's really superb. :great

re: Super Streetfighter 2 Turbo
I should have deleted this it sometimes worked, sometimes didn't. Play Shadow Fighter instead :)

re: Young Ones CDXLs
Have you played Back to the Future 3 yet? :)

This is the read txt for the CD..

CD32-200.iso README.TXT (15/June/2003)
------------
200 Games for your Amiga CD32

Due to the encouraging feedback (and lack of other compilations)
here is my second CD32 compilation imaginatively titled: 'CD32-200'.

The 200 games included on this compilation include the 100 games also
found on my first compilation (cd32-100) and this time I've included
some games which require a mouse and keyboard. All games will *run*
on a standard CD32 without extra memory or a floppy disk drive.

This ISO image has been created to be used with a standard CD32.
Requires only a CD32 and a joypad/joystick, no memory expansion,
although a keyboard/mouse may be necessary for a few games.
The image is just a single data track (no CD Audio/MP3 tracks) and
should be easily burned to a CDR (not a CDRW) by most burning
software available.

* Burn this file to cd directly, do not extract the files and re-create
another ISO image to burn - it will not boot on a CD32 (trust me).
Try to burn your CD at a low speed (no more than 4x) as this
usually results in a CD that is more reliable.

* If you're having problems when booting the CD in terms of speed
(the menu should appear after around 30 seconds) then you may
have a bad CD and should try burning another.

There are 200 games ready to run from this CD and a few animations
and demos all selectable from a menu which starts automatically
when the CD is booted on a CD32.

Gary.

Yeah so standard games. Is it not better to make your own cd32 disc with the games you like? Better of running Winuae and using the KG's whdload versions :)

It was discussed a while back and all links where removed...
