Amiga Emu for the Xbox?

Hi Guys!

I was wondering if anybody here could help me out?
Im looking at putting the Amiga emu onto my xbox, Ive just got a few questions that I need help with before I do it.

1.. Where can I actually get the Amiga emu for the Xbox? I take it, its not the same one we all have on our pc's? Is it modified for just the xbox?

2.. Can I use the roms I have on Cloanto's Amiga Forever?

3.. How easy is it to put onto the Xbox?

4.. Percentage wise, how many games would you say it could play? Ive heard that it only plays a few games, is this true?

5.. Can you get the Xbox controller to work as a mouse?

6.. Is it possible to save games with the emu?

7.. How do you go about changing disks when prompted?

I thinks thats all the questions I have for now!!

Any help is gratefully appreciated!!

Ive managed to get an emu onto the xbox, but its not working!! I cant seem to be able to get a game working!! To be totally honest, it looks crap, it may be me, but it looks bloody awful. I hope Im proved wrong as theres nothing id like more than playing sensi on the big screen with a few m8's around!! (The other half wont let me have the amiga downstairs!!)
I wish it was like the SNES emu I have on it!! So easy to use & really nice looking!

Unfortunately you're right Burseg!! it would be nice if the emu on the xbox was as easier to run as its pc counterpart!! or is it just me?! Im probably doing things wrong but hey im sure i'll get there in the end!!

what version do you have ? latest is 0.7 , Its supposed to use the winuae source tree as a point of reference ,so what works on that should work uaex. I have managed to run a lot of games with no problems (including sensible soccer). And I dont understand what you mean by its looks crap? , do you mean the menu interface or the emulation view? , The interface is 'better' on 0.7 but admitedly not great.

I too have not had any problems. The default config that comes with the emu is crap though which may be the cause of your problems.

It looks great to me, the same if not better as a real amiga connected to the same tv.

Does anybody know where I can the full compiled 0.7 version they could email me? I had a corrupted version of 0.6 & I downloaded 0.7 from the address Burseg kindly gave out but unfortunately I dont have the Xbox XDK to compile it. Bloody typical!!

Bloody Hell why are things never simple for me!!!

Ive been looking for version 0.7 fully compiled now for the past 2 days but have had no joy in locating it!!

Do you have to compile everything on the Xbox with the XDK?

Cheers guys for putting up with my moaning!!

If your PC's graphics card has tv-out, it's possible to use this in conjunction with UAE in fullscreen mode.

I do this for MAME32 and Snes9x, works a treat.

I have a real A1200 so haven't actually tried UAE on tv-out, but everything else I've tried works so far. Just make sure you match UAE's output resolution to the same as the desktop in tv mode (800x600 in my case).

Useful link for Nvidia owners with tv-out cards: www.tvtool.de (contrast/overscan/hotkeys manipulation - far better than the NV detonator tv tab.)

Thanks for the link Turk182!! Ive just tried to download the emu from the sites mirc channel but unfortunately wasnt able to get in!! I get this message:-

connecting to irc.webmaster.com (6667)

unable to connect (connection time out)

Ive tried to quite alot of time tonight, but have had no luck!!

Looks like I'll have to live without the Xbox Amiga Emu!!!!

Never mind I'll have to make do with the emu on my laptop!

I don't actually own an X-box, but a friend sent it so I could do a dvd disc with the emulator and loads of games.

Thanks to help from Turk182 I now have version 0.7!! but it doesnt seem to have done me any good as I cant get the bugger to work!! I manage to get it on the xbox alright but then I come unstuck!!

I insert the floppies ok, then I click on reset Amiga but nothing happens!! Where am I going wrong?!!! Please can somebody help me?!

i've been looking for this and the xSnes9x for ages, but it seems everyone's stopped distributing it because they were compiled with an illicit version of the XDK. (gutted) where did you find uaex 0.7??? the only reason i bought the xbox was for the emulation!

Personally I think the emulator is pretty well executed considering the limitations of the controller compared an Amiga's mouse, joystick and keyboard input devices!

Everything I've tried runs full speed and sounds great but I've only tried A500 stuff. It runs off CDRW no problem so you don't have to copy to your xbox's HD if you don't want.

I like the screen sizing and positioning feature along with the opportunity to have everything anti-aliased but it really could do with an option to be able to change the buttons into joystick movements and not just keyboard key emulation. Pressing up on the D pad to jump in platform games just isn't natural!
