As for porting to the amiga, well that should be a piece of cake. If I had the graphics and sounds, I sure wouldn't mind porting it myself.
Come on guys, give this man the graphics and sounds. Metal Slug 3 for the Amiga would be awesome.

How about Shining Force/Langrisser (Mega Drive series), ported for the miggy?

Indeed! Games such as Shining Force (Fire Emblem, anyone?) are pretty easy to port, too. I'm currently busy ripping Advance Wars 2 (it's on hold now), but if anyone has full gfx sets+music/sound for games, porting would be a very real possibility. There are plenty of great games which are no problem to handle on an a1200, and the only problem is getting all the gfx/sounds/music.

Mmh, maybe there are some SNES/Mega Drive ripping tools for the graphics/sounds. This needs indeed a deeper Google check.

Ah, the good old Zophar's Domain, had forgotten about it. Ripping by hand is such a pain, good ripping tools would be a real life saver!

Eidolon's Inn is also a good start. They mentioned a WGT tool for doing tile maps.

Jet Set Willy - another one I'm not sure was ported - could be wrong
Chuckie Egg - from the Spectrum
Wipeout - from the Playstation
Chuck Yeager's Air Combat - a classic from the PC

Beach Head project DID start for the Amiga but they canceled it.

In any case C64 emulators on Amiga work rather well, so...

Thanks Cody for Chuckie Egg.

Wipeout wasn't for the "classic" Amiga though, was it? Not unless you had an A1200 or A4000 and upgraded it big time.

A simpler CD32 version would have been good though.

You need a PPC and graphics card to run Wipeout 2097 (and plenty of RAM, I'd expect).

I couldn't imagine any version of it running on a CD32, it would have to be very severely cut down and even then it'd be struggling, at least I think so anyway.

No you can't, this thread is about games you wish were released on the Amiga

It's a good idea for a thread though - "Amiga games you want released on the DS"

Shadowfire and Enigma Force, could be expanded with more missions - or with additional sub-plots.

Starquake - given a graphical makeover similar to what they did with Head over Heels.

The two first Dan Dare games, Strange Loop and the two Dynamite Dan games.

You can it from PlanetEmu. Well I think it's the same Gorf you are talking about, haven't tested them:
